Swine Flu Epidemic/ H1N1 Vaccine Deaths and Injuries

This article appeared at the beginning of March. Now in April we are hearing of dozens of cases of people in Mexico, dying of 'swine flu'. I think the Baxter accident and the swine flu are related.

It's emerged that virulent H5N1 bird flu was sent out by accident from an Austrian lab last year and given to ferrets in the Czech Republic
before anyone realised. As well as the risk of it escaping into the wild, the H5N1 got mixed with a human strain, which might have spawned a hybrid that could unleash a pandemic.

Last December, the Austrian branch of US vaccine company Baxter sent a batch of ordinary human H3N2 flu, altered so it couldn't replicate, to Avir Green Hills Biotechnology, also in Austria. In February, a lab in the Czech Republic working for Avir alerted Baxter that, unexpectedly, ferrets inoculated with the sample had died. It turned out the sample contained live H5N1, which Baxter uses to make vaccine. The two seem to have been mixed in error.

Markus Reinhard of Baxter says no one was infected because the H3N2 was handled at a high level of containment. But Ab Osterhaus of Erasmus University in the Netherlands says: "We need to go to great lengths to make sure this kind of thing doesn't happen."

Accidental release of a mixture of live H5N1 and H3N2 viruses could have resulted in dire consequences. While H5N1 doesn't easily infect people, H3N2 viruses do. If someone exposed to a mixture of the two had been simultaneously infected with both strains, he or she could have served as an incubator for a hybrid virus able to transmit easily to and among people.

And here we see that Baxter, who released the virus, are now the ones to make the swine flu vaccine....mmmm.

Baxter To Develop Swine Flu Vaccine Despite Bird Flu Scandal

A U.S. based pharmaceutical company that just weeks ago was involved in a scandal involving vaccines tainted with deadly avian flu virus has been chosen to head up efforts to produce a vaccine for the Mexican swine flu that has seemingly migrated into the U.S. and Europe.

Baxter confirmed over the weekend that it is working with the World Health Organization on a potential vaccine to curb the deadly swine flu virus that is blamed for scores of deaths in Mexico and has emerged as a threat in the U.S., reports the Chicago Tribune.

Baxter has previously worked with governments all over the globe to develop and produce vaccines to protect against infectious disease or potential threats from bioterrorism. After 9/11 Baxter helped supply stockpiles of a smallpox vaccine and in 2003 the company was contracted to develop a vaccine to combat the SARS virus. In 2006 the UK Government announced plans designed to inoculate every person in the country with Baxter’s vaccines in the event of a flu pandemic.

However, Baxter has a very recent and most disturbing connection to flu vaccines.

As reported by multiple sources last month, including the Times of India, vaccines contaminated with deadly live H5N1 avian flu virus were distributed to 18 countries last December by a lab at an Austrian branch of Baxter.

It was only by providence that the batch was first tested on ferrets in the Czech Republic, before being shipped out for injection into humans. The ferrets all died and the shocking discovery was made.

Initially, Baxter attempted to stonewall questions by invoking “trade secrets” and refused to reveal how the vaccines were contaminated with H5N1. After increased pressure they then claimed that pure H5N1 batches were sent by accident.

Since the probability of mixing a live virus biological weapon with vaccine material by accident is virtually impossible, this leaves no other explanation than that the contamination was a deliberate attempt to weaponize the H5N1 virus to its most potent extreme and distribute it via conventional flu vaccines to the population who would then infect others to a devastating degree as the disease went airborne.

The fact that Baxter mixed the deadly H5N1 virus with a mix of H3N2 seasonal flu viruses is the smoking gun. The H5N1 virus on its own has killed hundreds of people, but it is less airborne and more restricted in the ease with which it can spread. However, when combined with seasonal flu viruses, which as everyone knows are super-airborne and easily spread, the effect is a potent, super-airbone, super deadly biological weapon.

Indeed, some have already suggested that the current scare could represent the use of such a weapon.

Now it has been announced that Baxter is seeking a sample of the potentially lethal never before seen form of swine/avian/human flu virus in order to assist the World Health Organization in developing a new vaccine, reaping billions in the process.

Why should Baxter be trusted, when they have already been proven to be at the very least criminally negligent, and at worst a prime suspect in attempting to carry off one of the most heinous crimes in the history of mankind?

The company has already put the safety of the entire human race at risk, and now, just a few weeks later, we’re expected to invest our confidence in them and take their shots with a smile and a still tongue?

As Mike Adams of Natural News has commented, “If you mail an envelope full of anthrax to your Senator, you get arrested as a terrorist. So why is Baxter — which mailed samples of a far more deadly viral strain to labs around the world — getting away with saying, essentially, ‘Oops?’”

WHO officials are reportedly still closely monitoring the investigation into Baxter’s contaminated flu vaccines, seemingly they are not too concerned. Perhaps we should be.

And this is an even more alarming one I found from 2004, saying that the CDC 'will mate H5N1 and human flu viruses in a process known as reassortment'

CDC To Conduct Avian Flu Pandemic Experiments

The alarm now sounds with increasing frequency and urgency: the world could be on the brink of an influenza pandemic sparked by the highly virulent avian flu strain ravaging poultry stocks in Southeast Asia, experts fear.

But can that strain -- known as H5N1 -- actually acquire the ability to spread easily to and among people? And if it can, how likely is that dreaded event to occur?

Early in the new year, U.S. scientists will begin experiments that should provide some answers to those questions. In the process, they hope to learn more about why a virus that nature designed to infect migratory water birds has the astonishing capacity to kill mammal species ranging from house cats to tigers to humans.

The work won't indicate how soon a pandemic might start. And the findings can't be taken as a guarantee the virus will evolve as the science predicts.

"Like a lot of science, it's an imitation of nature,'' explains Dr. Frank Plummer, scientific director of Canada's National Microbiology Laboratory.

"It doesn't replicate exactly what happens. But I think it gives you an idea of the propensity of the H5N1 virus to do this thing.''

The researchers, from the influenza branch of the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta, will mate H5N1 and human flu viruses in a process known as reassortment. Viable offspring will be tested in animals thought to be good surrogates for humans, to see if the viruses can infect, can be transmitted easily from infected animals to healthy ones and to note the severity of disease each provokes.

In other words, the CDC researchers will be deliberately engineering viruses of pandemic potential. It's high-risk but crucial work, the influenza community insists.

"It's a dangerous experiment,'' admits Dr. Robert Webster, a world-renowned expert on influenza based at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Still, Webster has no doubt the work needs doing. Science must gain a better understanding of the menacing H5N1 virus.

"These experiments are fully justified, knowing what we know,'' he stresses, using a scatological adjective to describe how scared influenza experts are of H5N1.

"This is the worst virus I've ever met in my long career.''

The World Health Organization has been pleading for months for qualified research facilities -- of which there are few -- to undertake this work.

The Geneva-based agency would like to be able to put some kind of odds on how likely H5N1 is to become a pandemic strain and how deadly -- or not -- H5N1 reassortment viruses might be in humans.

If none of the hybrids cause severe disease, the organization might feel comfortable with stepping down its current high level of alert, explains Dr. Klaus Stohr, director of the WHO's global influenza program.

On the other hand, if CDC researchers easily produce highly transmissible and lethal hybrids, "that would certainly add to our concern.''

It's about quantifying risk.

"Currently we do risk-speculation, but we want to do risk-assessment. And that will give us scientific evidence on the possible outcome on the emergence of a pandemic virus,'' Stohr says.

"It will give us an opportunity to predict the probability because we will have an understanding on the number of reassortment viruses which are viable, the percentage of those that are viable which are then transmissible -- and also on the percentage of those which are viable, transmissible and pathogenic. And how pathogenic they are.''

The CDC researchers will work in high containment level 3-enhanced labs, says Dr. Nancy Cox, the leading influenza authority who heads the agency's flu branch. The labs have special features designed to protect both the health of the workers and the world against a viral escape.

"It's not typical level 3,'' Cox says, adding the lab workers are "extremely cognizant of the danger of the H5 viruses.''

"And of course we know we can autoclave these viruses,'' she adds, referring to a process that kills using high pressure and heat. "So if you find something that is particularly worrisome, you can get rid of it.''

Still, lab accidents happen. Since SARS was contained in mid-2003, four lab workers in Asia have infected themselves with the potentially deadly disease and one spread it beyond the walls of the laboratory. Earlier this year, a Russian lab worker died after accidentally infecting herself with Ebola virus.

Given that reality, some groups have raised concern that work like this should not be done. But a top virologist from the Netherlands insists it must be, expressing confidence in the CDC's ability to do the job safely.

"If it's being done by CDC, then the good thing about that is that safety measures will properly be in place,'' said Dr. Albert Osterhaus, of the Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam.

The CDC researchers will mix genes from H5N1 with genes from circulating strains of human flu to see which combinations produce viruses that grow and infect. Cox says H3N2 -- the strain that has been responsible for most human flu in recent years -- will be the first priority.

However, Southeast Asia has recently seen activity with H1N1, the mild modern descendant of the strain that caused the Spanish flu of 1918. So the CDC has been sequencing H1N1 viruses recently isolated in Thailand to be able to work with it as well.

"We're really keeping our minds open. But as long as H3N2 viruses continue to predominate, that will be our first target,'' Cox says.

Reassortment studies can be performed two ways, she explains. Scientists can use reverse genetics, a procedure that allows them to custom tailor a virus with a predetermined constellation of genes from each parent virus.

The other alternative is what Cox describes as the classical way -- simultaneously infecting tissue culture with H5N1 and H3N2 viruses and seeing what results. That approach is more time-consuming and laborious, but more closely mimics evolution of influenza viruses in nature.

"We will probably be using a combination of the two different methods. I think there are advantages and disadvantages to each,'' says Cox, who believes her team may have some preliminary results within a couple of months of beginning the work.

Some skeptics have pointed to the fact H5N1 hasn't yet reassorted to argue it may not be able to do so outside of the artificial confines of a laboratory.

Webster thinks that optimism is misplaced. He calls H5N1 "one of the most promiscuous viruses that we've ever seen. It would amaze me if it wouldn't mate with a human virus, given the opportunity.''

CDC researchers have already made hybrid viruses with H5N1, using versions of the virus isolated after it first caused human infections in 1997 in Hong Kong.

"Some gene combinations could be produced and others were not,'' is all Cox will reveal of that as-yet unpublished work.

Even if, in this new round of experiments, CDC's researchers fail to produce a single viable hybrid virus, that doesn't prove H5N1 won't reassort in nature, experts say.

For one thing, flu viruses are constantly evolving. The viruses that the CDC will work with now -- isolated in 2004 -- are not identical to those from the 1997 outbreak. A combination that fails with the 1997 virus might work with a 2004 virus -- or a 2005 version.

"Things in nature can happen that you can't replicate in the lab necessarily,'' stresses Plummer, whose lab is working on producing reassortments of H7N3, the strain behind last spring's avian flu outbreak in British Columbia.

"Can you be sure that all possible virus reassortments have occurred? No. And fairly minor changes in viruses can make really huge differences in their biologic properties.'

Source: Canadian Press, 27th December 2004.

So in 2004 we have the CDC actively planning to mix animal and human viruses, then we have Baxter 'accidently' mixing the viruses and releasing them and now the same company is making a vaccine to save everyone from swine flu. Coincidence? No way.

World Health Organisation Say There HAVEN'T Been 150 Deaths, But Only 7

Australian Associated Press

A MEMBER of the World Health Organisation has dismissed claims that more than 150 people have died from swine flu, saying it has officially recorded only seven deaths around the world.

Reports have put the likely death toll from the virus at 152, with Mexican officials confirming 20 deaths.

The number of cases under observation in Mexico alone has reportedly reached 1614.

But Vivienne Allan, from WHO's patient safety program, said the body had confirmed that worldwide there had been just seven deaths - all in Mexico - and 79 confirmed cases of the disease.

"Unfortunately that (150-plus deaths) is incorrect information and it does happen, but that's not information that's come from the World Health Organisation,'' Ms Allan said.

"That figure is not a figure that's come from the World Health Organisation and, I repeat, the death toll is seven and they are all from Mexico.''

Ms Allan said WHO had confirmed 40 cases of swine flu in the Americas, 26 in Mexico, six in Canada, two in Spain, two in the UK and three in New Zealand.

Source: The Australian, 29th April 2009.

I repeat, there HAVEN'T been 150 deaths, only 7 in the whole world! The virus is a mixture of pig flu, human flu and bird flu and there is no way it can possibly be of natural origin! It is either the result of an accident such as happened at Baxters

Here is an article where the CDC say that the virus is pig/human/bird mixed together, and given their 2004 discussion on mixing human/animal viruses, I think it is blatently obvious.

New Flu Combines Pig, Bird, Human Virus

* Seven diagnosed with strange hybrid virus
* Virus combines diseases from pigs, birds, humans
* No time for concern yet, says expert

SEVEN people have been diagnosed with a strange and unusual new kind of swine flu in California and Texas, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported.

All seven people have recovered but the virus itself is a never-before-seen mixture of viruses typical among pigs, birds and humans, the CDC said.

"We are likely to find more cases," the CDC's Dr Anne Schuchat said.

"We don't think this is time for major concern around the country."

However, some experts fear this strain, or another strain, could spark a pandemic that could kill millions.

Strange mixture

Unusually, the viruses all appear to carry genes from swine flu, avian flu and human flu viruses from North America, Europe and Asia.

"We haven't seen this strain before, but we hadn't been looking as intensively as we have," Dr Schuchat said.

"It's very possible that this is something new that hasn't been happening before."

CDC INFORMATION ON HOW TO SELL FLU VACCINES

'Recipe' That Fosters Higher Interest And Demand For Influenza Vaccine

The following is a CDC document for health professionals on how to sell flu vaccines, and it describes exactly what the medical profession and media are currently doing with the swine flu 'epidemic':

1. Influenza's arrival coincides with immunization season (i.e. when people can take action).

2. Dominant strain and initial cases of disease are associated with severe illness or outcomes.
Occur among people for whom influenza is not generally thought to cause serious complications (i.e. children, healthy adults, healthy seniors).
In cities and communities with major media outlets (e.g. daily newspapers, major TV stations).

3. Medical experts and public health authorities publicly (via media) state concern and alarm (and predict dire outcomes) and urge influenza vaccination.

4. The combination of 2 and 3 result in significant media interest and attention, framing of the flu season in terms that motivate behaviour (e.g. as 'very severe', 'More severe than last or past years', 'deadly.').

5. Continued reports from health officials and media that influenza is causing severe illness and/or affecting lots of people - helping foster the perception that many people are susceptible to a bad case of influenza.

6. Visable tangible examples of the illness (e.g. pictures of children, families of those affected) and people getting vaccinated (first to motivate, the latter to reinforce).

7. References to and discussions of pandemic influenza with continued reference to the importance of vaccination.

Implications of the 'recipe'

A large component of consumer demand for flu vaccination is contingent upon things we can't control.

Vaccination demand, particularly among people who don't routinely recieve an annual influenza vaccination is related to heightened concern, anxiety and worry. For example:

A perception or sense that many people are falling ill.

A perception or sense that many people are experiencing bad illness.

A perception or sense of vulnerability to contracting and experiencing bad illness.

Influenza Immunization Challenges

The easiest people to communicate with are in segment 1, but they are already convinced of the value and benefits of annual influenza vaccination.

Persuading people in segments 2 and 3 to change behaviour is quite challenging, they are more skeptical about influenza consequences, vaccination need and benefits, effectiveness of influenza vaccine etc and often hold their beliefs quite firmly.

Achieving and maintaining public and media interest in the 6th or 7th leading cause of death.

Effectively addressing parent concerns about the number and timing of vaccinations and thimerosal.

Some component of success (higher demand for influenza vaccination) stems from information and media stories that create motivating (high) levels of concern and anxiety about influenza.

INDUCING WORRY, RAISED ANXIETY AND CONCERN IN PEOPLE brings forth a number of issues and presents many dilemmas for health care professionals.

The belief that you can inform and warn people and get them to take appropriate actions or precautions with respect to a health threat or risk without actually making them anxious or concerned.

This is not possible. Rather....

"This is like breaking up with your boyfriend without hurting his feelings. It can't be done."

So the recipe is basically to scare people and make them think they are going to be seriously ill or die when they are not, in order to sell a drug or vaccine.

See:

http://www.ama-assn.org/ama1/pub/upload/mm/36/2004_flu_nowak02.pdf

For the full document.

The swine flu fiasco is following the exact same 'recipe' as mentioned in the CDC document, media coverage about a 'pandemic' even though only a few hundred cases and 7 deaths have occured, advertising about how the virus might be deadly and encouraging hysteria with news titles such as 'All of humanity at risk', at the same time as planning a swine flu vaccination programme and getting rid of the millions of stocks of Tamiflu that they couldn't sell before.

Summary of Swine Flu Information

1. This is NOT a pandemic. The definition of 'pandemic' means that MILLIONS are affected or die, such as happened with the plague in the 14th century. This new human/bird/pig flu has only affected a few hundred from around the world (more people get regular flu) and there have only been 7 deaths. The 7 deaths, while tragic, do not constitute a pandemic.

2. There HAS NOT been a death in the United States. The 23 month old toddler who died was Mexican and had come from Mexico to seek treatment in a Texas hospital, where according to newspaper reports he recieved 'aggressive treatment'. Research has shown for other illnesses that the more suppressive treatment given, the higher the mortality rate, so he may well have died from interventions. It is also deliberately misleading of the medical profession and media to state that he was from the US, which is untrue. He was a Mexican and all the deaths so far have been isolated to Mexico. (http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/30/health/30flu.html).

2. The media and WHO have banded around irresponsible predictions of 'a threat to all humanity' when in actual fact, officials in Mexico say the virus is basically mild and it does not have the same genetic structure as the influenza of 1918 that killed a lot of WW1 soldiers. (http://www.latimes.com/features/health/la-sci-swine-reality30-2009apr30,0,3606923.story).

3. The CDC, including named members of staff were quoted in the newspaper in December 2004 as wanting to conduct 'avian influenza pandemic experiments' by mating bird flu and human flu viruses together. As they referred to it as a 'pandemic' experiment, my guess is they wanted to create one as a type of training exercise to see if they would be able to contain it. (http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/1104186283991_7/?hub=Health).

I don't think this is a 'conspiracy' theory either, because NAMED members of staff of the CDC were openly discussing it in the newspaper and the article, which appeared in numerous media publications, was never contested by those named, and if it had been untrue it would have been contested. Something which is in the public domain is not a theory.

4. We now see a strange hybrid flu consisting of human, pig and bird flu which is NOT POSSIBLE IN NATURE, particularly as it comes from three different continents. As the CDC already admitted to conducting pandemic experiments with cross animal and human flu viruses, it is not that much of a stretch of the imagination to know where it came from.

5. Officials previously predicted pandemics with SARS virus and then later with bird flu, all in recent years. Humanity has never before been afflicted with so many strange and unusual viruses in a short space of time. As a member of the general public, from my observation it feels like WHO, the CDC, the NHS etc WANT some sort of pandemic to happen so they can practise disease containing techniques (and maybe people containing techniques) and make billions with new drugs and vaccinations.

They predicted the same dire consequences for humanity with SARS and bird flu, and nothing happened. (http://www.vetscite.org/publish/items/001203/index.html).

6. Their 'predictions' of a pandemic are exactly that, predictions (like going to a fortune teller) and they have NO CONCRETE EVIDENCE for a pandemic. They did the exact same thing in 1976 when there was an outbreak of swine flu at a military base, and they predicted it would spread to people on buses, in school's etc and that millions would die. They ordered mass vaccination of everyone and then the vaccine caused Guillain-Barre Syndrome and paralysed scores of people and many died, but no one died of swine flu. It never left the military base. The then director of the CDC was FIRED over the incident! It seems that the health department and CDC have an extremely short memory. (More on the 1976 swine flu vaccine scandal on another page I am developing).

7. Media reports suggest a pig farm may have been responsible for the start of this swine flu, but NONE OF THE PIGS HAD FLU. How can it be naturally occuring swine flu when the swine's aren't sick? Here is a press release from the World Organisation For Animal Health:

'It is not correct to call the current disease ‘swine influenza'. The virus that is circulating includes genetic components of human, avian and swine origin. The OIE proposed to refer to this new virus as ‘North American influenza', using the same approach to nomenclature as used with the Asian influenza and Spanish influenza outbreaks that have occurred in the past.

Given there is no case of infection in animals confirmed in the zones where cases of human infection have been detected, it is not necessary to introduce specific measures for international trade in swine or their products nor to consider that consumers of pork products are at risk of infection. '

http://www.oie.int/eng/press/en_090428.htm

8. People now in the UK can be diagnosed as having 'swine flu' over the phone with NHS Direct, without even growing a sample in the lab to see what strain it is. All they have to have is a certain set of symptoms that are the same as the common garden variety of flu. Without lab analyse of the virus, there is NO EVIDENCE that it is swine flu, so many people here who are just sick with colds or normal flu may be getting diagnosed as having swine flu.

http://www.nhs.uk/alertsemergencies/pages/pandemicflualert.aspx

9. A girl in the UK was thought to have swine flu so her school was closed down and more than 200 pupils were foribly given the anti-viral drug, Tamiflu, WITHOUT PARENTAL CONSENT AND UNDER POLICE GUARD. This is a violation of human rights and it is medically irresponsible since Tamiflu is CONTRAINDICATED in children and teenagers. Roches Tamiflu was a flop when it was first released as it does not prevent flu, it just reduces the number of days you have it. Then when the bird flu fiasco happened, the health authority stockpiled it and as people did NOT die in scores as they predicted, they didn't use it. Now they have this huge stockpile of Tamiflu and what better way to use it up and generate more cash than force it on a terrified public? (More on Tamiflu to follow on a different page).

10. According to advertising, 1 person every 30 minutes in the UK dies of bowel cancer and 1 in 3 will get cancer. This is a true pandemic, but despite the huge death toll we don't see the NHS or the CDC screaming from the roof tops about how all of humanity is at risk.
These are scare tactics as written about in the CDC paper quoted above, to scare people into submitting to drugs, vaccinations and forced quarantines that they would otherwise not submit to.
Frightening the public in this way is PSYCHOLOGICAL TERRORISM and is a form of violence. The health departments should be ashamed of themselves.

Scientist Blames Swine Flu On Vaccines

The World Health Organization is investigating a claim by an Australian researcher that the swine flu virus circling the globe may have been created as a result of human error.

Adrian Gibbs, 75, who collaborated on research that led to the development of Roche Holding AG’s Tamiflu drug, said in an interview that he intends to publish a report suggesting the new strain may have accidentally evolved in eggs scientists use to grow viruses and drugmakers use to make vaccines. Gibbs said he came to his conclusion as part of an effort to trace the virus’s origins by analyzing its genetic blueprint.

“One of the simplest explanations is that it’s a laboratory escape,” Gibbs said in an interview with Bloomberg Television today. “But there are lots of others.”

The World Health Organization received the study last weekend and is reviewing it, Keiji Fukuda, the agency’s assistant director-general of health security and environment, said in an interview May 11. Gibbs, who has studied germ evolution for four decades, is one of the first scientists to analyze the genetic makeup of the virus that was identified three weeks ago in Mexico and threatens to touch off the first flu pandemic since 1968.

A virus that resulted from lab experimentation or vaccine production may indicate a greater need for security, Fukuda said. By pinpointing the source of the virus, scientists also may better understand the microbe’s potential for spreading and causing illness, Gibbs said.

Possible Mistake

“The sooner we get to grips with where it’s come from, the safer things might become,” Gibbs said by phone from Canberra yesterday. “It could be a mistake” that occurred at a vaccine production facility or the virus could have jumped from a pig to another mammal or a bird before reaching humans, he said.

Gibbs and two colleagues analyzed the publicly available sequences of hundreds of amino acids coded by each of the flu virus’s eight genes. He said he aims to submit his three-page paper today for publication in a medical journal.

“You really want a very sober assessment” of the science behind the claim, Fukuda said May 11 at the WHO’s Geneva headquarters.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta has received the report and has decided there is no evidence to support Gibbs’s conclusion, said Nancy Cox, director of the agency’s influenza division. She said since researchers don’t have samples of swine flu viruses from South America and Africa, where the new strain may have evolved, those regions can’t be ruled out as natural sources for the new flu.

No Evidence

“We are interested in the origins of this new influenza virus,” Cox said. “But contrary to what the author has found, when we do the comparisons that are most relevant, there is no evidence that this virus was derived by passage in eggs.”

The WHO’s collaborative influenza research centers, which includes the CDC, and sites in Memphis, Melbourne, London and Tokyo, were asked by the international health agency to review the study over the weekend, Fukuda said. The request was extended to scientists at the Food and Agriculture Organization in Rome, the World Organization for Animal Health in Paris, as well as the WHO’s influenza network, he said.

“My guess is that the picture should be a lot clearer over the next few days,” Fukuda said. “We have asked a lot of people to look at this.”

Virus Expert

Gibbs wrote or co-authored more than 250 scientific publications on viruses during his 39-year career at the Australian National University in Canberra, according to biographical information on the university’s Web site.

Swine flu has infected 5,251 people in 30 countries so far, killing 61, according to WHO data. Scientists are trying to determine whether the virus will mutate and become more deadly if it spreads to the Southern Hemisphere and back. Flu pandemics occur when a strain of the disease to which few people have immunity evolves and spreads.

Gibbs said his analysis supports research by scientists including Richard Webby, a virologist at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, who found the new strain is the product of two distinct lineages of influenza that have circulated among swine in North America and Europe for more than a decade.

In addition, Gibbs said his research found the rate of genetic mutation in the new virus was about three times faster than that of the most closely related viruses found in pigs, suggesting it evolved outside of swine.

Gene Evolution

“Whatever speeded up the evolution of these genes happened at least seven or eight years ago, so one wonders, why hasn’t it been found?” Gibbs said today.

Some scientists have speculated that the 1977 Russian flu, the most recent global outbreak, began when a virus escaped from a laboratory.

Identifying the source of new flu viruses is difficult without finding the exact strain in an animal or bird “reservoir,” said Jennifer McKimm-Breschkin, a virologist at the Commonwealth Science and Industrial Research Organization in Melbourne.

“If you can’t find an exact match, the best you can do is compare sequences,” she said. “Similarities may give an indication of a possible source, but this remains theoretical.”

The World Organization for Animal Health, which represents chief veterinary officers from 174 countries, received the Gibbs paper and is working with the WHO on an assessment, said Maria Zampaglione, a spokeswoman.

Genetic Patterns

The WHO wants to know whether any evidence that the virus may have been developed in a laboratory can be corroborated and whether there are other explanations for its particular genetic patterns, according to Fukuda.

“These things have to be dealt with straight on,” he said. “If someone makes a hypothesis, then you test it and you let scientific process take its course.”

Gibbs said he has no evidence that the swine-derived virus was a deliberate, man-made product.

“I don’t think it could be a malignant thing,” he said. “It’s much more likely that some random thing has put these two viruses together.”

Gibbs, who spent most of his academic career studying plant viruses, said his major contribution to the study of influenza occurred in 1975, while collaborating with scientists Graeme Laver and Robert Webster in research that led to the development of the anti-flu medicines Tamiflu and Relenza, made by GlaxoSmithKline Plc.

Bird Poo

“We were out on one of the Barrier Reef islands, off Australia, catching birds for the flu in them, and I happened to be the guy who caught the best,” Gibbs said. The bird he got “yielded the poo from which was isolated the influenza isolate strain from which all the work on Tamiflu and Relenza started.”

Gibbs, who says he studies the evolution of flu viruses as a “retirement hobby,” expects his research to be challenged by other scientists.

“This is how science progresses,” he said. “Somebody comes up with a wild idea, and then they all pounce on it and kick you to death, and then you start off on another silly idea.”

Vaccine Market Riding On The Pigs Back

THE global vaccines market is tipped to balloon to $US45 billion ($60 billion) by 2015, as the threat of flu pandemics such as swine flu and higher adult vaccine usage bolster the size of the market, and companies such as Australia's CSL are set to benefit, according to analysts at Citi.

"The major vaccine manufacturers, supported by government funding, are investing heavily in increasing capacity, says investment bank Citi, while new products and manufacturing technologies are changing the shape of the market.

Fears over flu pandemics, bio-terrorism, higher adult vaccinations, expanding markets, new products and manufacturing techniques, combined with more government funding, is expected to drive that growth.

"The emergence of avian flu started a wave of public investment in influenza vaccines as countries drew up pandemic preparedness plans," the investment bank says. There are now 20 vaccines in development for influenza.

By Citi's reckoning, the global vaccine market has been growing at more than 25 per cent and is expected to show a more than 16 per cent compound annual growth rate during the next seven years, reaching $US45 billion by 2015.

Biotech Daily analyst Marc Sinatra is less bullish about the sector's growth story.

"My guess would be that in terms of flu vaccinations really taking off as a result of pandemic threats, I would have thought that was unlikely, unless ... they came up with a dramatically better target that covered more flu strains, particularly those that come from animal sources," says Sinatra, who has been following the biotechnology sector for about a decade.

"I haven't seen any dramatic changes in the seasonal flu market or the development of flu vaccines that would lead me to conclude that growth rates (in the global vaccine market) would be any higher than they currently are." He estimates that to be about 12 per cent a year.

While he believes the pandemic threat would lead to growth in drugs such as Tamiflu, "I would have thought that it's really not going to have a huge amount of impact on the vaccines market ..."

Nevertheless, Citi believes that in the global influenza vaccine market demand from governments to develop vaccine stockpiles against pandemics could see that part of the market double over the next eight to 10 years to about $US4.4 billion. The top five players alone -- Sanofi-Aventis, GSK, Wyeth, Merck and Novartis -- are estimated to control more than 80 per cent of the global vaccines market.

But well placed in the sector, particularly in the influenza and cancer vaccine space, is Australian biopharmaceutical company CSL. Although a small player on the global stage, with a market share of just 2 per cent, Citi says via its flu vaccine franchise, ISCOMATRIX adjuvant and JV pipeline projects, "CSL has positioned itself as a niche player in high growth areas with established distribution channels".

It also points out that CSL's exposure was largely dependent on human papillomavirus vaccines (Gardasil and Cervarix).

Sinatra is not fully convinced.

"(Regarding) CSL's current manufacturing, although they can produce volume, they're pretty much doing it much the same way that the standard companies are," he says.

"So I don't see a huge increase in sales coming from them."

He estimates that the influenza market could be growing at between 15-20 per cent a year. "For them to grow faster than that, I would have thought they would really need some sort of real technological advantage over other people, and I'm not sure they have that," he says.

CSL's vaccine portfolio comprises 20 vaccines. Citi says the majority have been launched in various global markets, with seven undergoing clinical or pre-clinical development.

Earnings from the company's HPV and flu vaccines alone, generated 27 per cent of CSL's earnings before interest and tax in the 2008 financial year, Citi noted.

However, the analysts are forecasting a drop in this contribution as sales from its cervical cancer vaccine Gardasil sales slow and as sales from plasma products accelerate.

CSL exposure is also small in the US market, with Citi suggesting it provided 3.5 million doses for the 2008/09 flu season.

"CSL's strategy is to supply flu vaccine before Thanksgiving, being an early market entrant," itadds.

As part of its analysis, CSL also raised the prospect of adult vaccines out-pacing child vaccines.

Although accounting for about 65 per cent of the vaccine market share, the analysts say adult vaccines are expected to contribute a greater percentage of the market during the next 10years, reaching 50 per cent by 2012. That is largely due to a high uptake of influenza, cancer and hepatitis vaccines.

"These are all areas where CSL has either a marketed or pipeline project vaccine," it says.

Author Asks For Proof That Swine Flu Has Been Isolated In A Lab (i.e. seen with a microscope) - no one replies to his request.

James McCumiskey, author of "The Ultimate Conspiracy: The Biomedical Paradigm," is currently in search of scientific proof for the existence of this novel strain of swine flu virus that could cause a global pandemic and has sent the following email to public health officials and media outlets all over the world:

"I got a swine-flu document through the door the other day. I read it carefully. The document assumes that the case for the existence of the swine-flu virus has been proven. I respectfully ask you to identify the scientific publication where some scientist has managed to isolate, biochemically characterise and photograph the swine-flu virus H1N1. In other words I am requesting the scientific proof for the existence of this allegedly pathogenic viruswhich, according to this document, could cause a global pandemic.

"Luc Montagnier (the alleged discoverer of the HIV-virus) admitted in 1997 that the HIV-virus has not been isolated. In other words it has not been proven to exist. Ulla Schmidt the German Health Minister admitted in 2004 that there is no direct proof for the existence of the HIV-virus and that it was determined to exist by the consensus of the experts. What is true for the HIV-virus is also true of the H1N1 / Swine Flu virus.

"Lord Nimmo-Smith, in a famous judgment, said: ‘But however often a conclusion may be repeated, it is only as sound as the research on which it is based, and of this I have seen none.’

"However often scientists deliberately deceive and panic the public about the existence of the H1N1 / Swine Flu virus and the probability of a new flu pandemic, it is irrelevant if you cannot prove the existence of this virus.

"Dr. Stefan Lanka from Klein-Klein-Aktion is offering €10,000 to anyone who is able to produce a scientific paper proving the existence of the H1N1 virus. Please provide Dr. Lanka with the name of the scientific publication proving the existence of this novel swine flu virus."

To date, not one public health official has come forward with the proof of a novel H1N1 swine flu virus and the media is generally uninterested in the fact that proof of a "virus" associated with AIDS and a novel swine flu strain appear to be equally nonexistent.

No evidence of novel H1N1 virus says Mexico health official

This following exchange took place at the May 17, 2009 press conference with the CDC:

David Brown of The Washington Post: There’s a report that there is yet another new H1N1 virus that has been found in the states of Durango, Zacatecas, and Jalisco that is distinct from both this swine H1N1 and the seasonal Brisbane H1N1. Have you heard of this and can you tell us anything about this?

Daniel Jernigan, CDC’s deputy director of influenza division: We’ve heard of some reports about that, but I’ve not had any direct information about the specifics of that case. There’s ongoing dialog between us and the folks that are in Mexico, and as we know more about that, we’ll be able to let people know."

ScienceInsider is investigating but has yet to learn anything substantive. It was aired in a public venue, though, and likely will receive media attention, regardless of whether it turns out to be false.

"We heard a rumor but think it may be a misinterpretation of some lab data by a non-lab person," Nancy Cox, head of CDC’s influenza division, tells ScienceInsider. "We are following up."

"There is no scientific evidence, up to date, that we have a different A (H1N1) virus other than human seasonal or swine-origin H1N1," Celia Alpuche, head of the main lab in Mexico that does influenza testing, tells ScienceInsider. "We have seen influenza seasonal strains circulating even more than swine-origin A (H1N1) virus, in particular in areas in Mexico such as Durango, Jalisco, and Zacatecas. We started the subtyping of these strains and we are finding mostly A (H3) seasonal and also A (H1) seasonal."

Alpuche, who heads the Instituto de Diagnóstico y Referencia Epidemiológicos (InDRE) in Mexico City, says they are exploring the hypothesis that a more virulent variant of the new H1N1 may explain the more severe cases in Mexico, but again, no existing evidence supports this possibility.

Journalist Files Charges Against WHO and the UN For Bioterrorism and Intent To Commit Mass Murder

As the anticipated July release date for Baxter's A/H1N1 flu pandemic vaccine approaches, an Austrian investigative journalist is warning the world that the greatest crime in the history of humanity is underway. Jane Burgermeister has recently filed criminal charges with the FBI against the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations (UN), and several of the highest ranking government and corporate officials concerning bioterrorism and attempts to commit mass murder. She has also prepared an injunction against forced vaccination which is being filed in America. These actions follow her charges filed in April against Baxter AG and Avir Green Hills Biotechnology of Austria for producing contaminated bird flu vaccine, alleging this was a deliberate act to cause and profit from a pandemic.

Summary of claims and allegations filed with FBI in Austria on June 10, 2009

In her charges, Burgermeister presents evidence of acts of bioterrorism that is in violation of U.S. law by a group operating within the U.S. under the direction of international bankers who control the Federal Reserve, as well as WHO, UN and NATO. This bioterrorism is for the purpose of carrying out a mass genocide against the U.S. population by use of a genetically engineered flu pandemic virus with the intent of causing death. This group has annexed high government offices in the U.S.

More Evidence That Swine Flu Was Purposefully Spread

The first cases of swine flu occured at the beginning of 2009, and were reported in the media in April 2009.

However, Baxter, the company who 'accidently' sent out vaccines contaminated with bird/pig flu to several different countries, had registered a patent application in August 2008 - BEFORE the swine flu cases were known about, that said:

'In particular preferred embodiments the composition or vaccine comprises more than one antigen.....such as influenza A and influenza B in particular selected from of one or more of the human H1N1, H2N2, H3N2, H5N1, H7N7, H1N2,H9N2, H7N2, H7N3, H10N7 subtypes, of the pig flu H1N1,H1N2, H3N1 and H3N2 subtypes, of the dog or horse flu H7N7,H3N8 subtypes or of the avian H5N1, H7N2, H1N7, H7N3,H13N6, H5N9, H11N6, H3N8, H9N2, H5N2, H4N8, H10N7, H2N2,H8N4, H14N5, H6N5, H12N5 subtypes.'

Now they suddenly had some kind of magic fortune telling ability to predict that people would 'require' vaccines against avian and pig flu!!

GP Isn't Sure If He Will Vaccinate His Child

A LEADING TAYSIDE GP has yet to decide whether he will be vaccinated against swine flu and allow his child to have the jab.

Dr Andrew Buist, deputy chairman of the British Medical Association’s Scottish general practitioners committee and a family doctor at Ardblair Surgery in Blairgowrie, said he will “probably” be immunised—but until the vaccine is licensed and he has been reassured on its safety he is holding back on making the decision.

The expected date of arrival of the vaccine has already slipped from early next month to mid September.

“For myself I would probably have it, but that’s a decision I will take nearer the time, which will be not that long from now—six or eight weeks away,” said Dr Buist.

“I would want to be reassured it had got its licence and preliminary safety approval checks had been given and, once that had happened, I would probably take it because undoubtedly, as a frontline healthcare worker, I would be exposed to the virus.”

But he said he would not want to make a decision at this stage and, like every parent, would have to “consider the benefits of the vaccine” once licensed and there was “up-to-date information” available before consenting to the vaccination of his child.

Dr Buist added, “My child’s mother and I will consider the evidence of safety when the vaccination becomes available and will make a decision based on that information.”

People considering whether to be vaccinated will have to weigh the benefits against possible risks.

“When any medicine or new vaccine comes on the market, we closely monitor it for any unexpected side effects during the first few years,” said Dr Buist.

“There is a trade-off between giving the (H1N1) vaccine to people most vulnerable to the virus and giving a vaccine which may not have had as complete a test as you would ideally want because it is being produced against the clock.”

Dr Buist added, “Anybody can withhold consent and, if a parent doesn’t want their child to be vaccinated, or any adult doesn’t want to be vaccinated, they are quite entitled to decline.

“There will be no sense of coercion.”

Nurses Oppose Mandatory Flu Vaccines

The New York State Nurses Association has come out against a state regulation that requires every health-care worker to be immunized against influenza.

The regulation has been adopted by the New York State Hospital Planning and Review Council. It's intended as a defense against a possible fall outbreak of swine flu.

The Nurses Association called the council's action a "scorched earth" approach.

"While we encourage nurses to be immunized for the flu, we do not agree that nurses should be required to get immunizations as a condition of employment," said Eileen Avery, associate director of the association's education, practice and research program.

Avery contended that the flu vaccine is not 100 percent effective. "There is no guarantee that in any given year, the public will benefit from mandatory immunization of health-care providers," she said.

People Reported To Have Died of Swine Flu Actually Died of Other Things

According to an article by journalist Christina England, people in the UK that have been reported to have died of swine flu actually died of other medical conditions:

'In the UK of the 30 deaths recorded most had underlying causes. In The Guardian 21st July 2009 it states that the Scottish health secretary Nicola Sturgeon, had this to say after the last death which was a 15 year old in Scotland.

"The tragic death of this young girl is devastating for her family and friends, and I'd like to express my sincere condolences. As we have seen in previous cases, this patient was suffering from underlying health conditions and her death should not cause alarm among the general population."

My sentiments exactly "her death should not cause alarm among the general population".

The Guardian also reported that the little girl in London that was reported to have died 'of the Swine flu' actually died of septic shock due to tonsillitis. The London GP who died 'of the Swine Flu' actually died of a blood clot on the lung and other underlying conditions.

These tragic deaths are not of people dying 'of the Swine flu', but they are simply dying 'with the Swine flu'. There is a huge difference.'

Swine Flu Vaccine More Dangerous Than The Virus

The race to create a vaccine for the H1N1 flu virus could place the public at a greater risk than the illness the vaccine is designed to prevent, says a University of Manitoba ethicist.

Arthur Schafer, director of the U of M's Centre for Professional and Applied Ethics, said it appears a vaccine will be rushed to the public before it can be determined properly that it's safe - or if it even works.

Schafer said the scientific research shows the effectiveness of seasonal flu vaccines in the past has been marginal. The effectiveness of antiviral drugs, designed to mitigate the effects of flu, is equally unimpressive, and research shows the drugs can have dangerous side effects, he added.

"Good ethics requires good facts, and the ethical debate so far has been who should be the first (to get the vaccine) and there has been virtually no discussion of the safety and effectiveness of the drug," he said.

Dr. Marie-Paule Kieny, WHO director of the initiative for vaccine research, said "there is no doubt" that, in any large-scale vaccination program, there will be instances of severe adverse reactions.

"The vast majority of those will not be associated at all with a vaccine that is given," said Kieny, who explained that the reactions may have happened anyway, and it's just "by chance" that they happened after a person received the vaccine.

Children to be Used As Guinea Pigs For Swine Flu Vaccine

PARENTS’ fears were growing last night over plans to use Britain’s 8.5million schoolchildren as guinea pigs for swine flu vaccinations.

The Government has drawn up drastic plans to immunise every schoolchild in the UK.

In the biggest mass vaccination since the 1964 operation against smallpox, school nurses, health visitors and GPs would deliver the injections to five to 16-year-olds at all 33,700 schools.

The programme could start at the beginning of the new school term in a major effort to minimise the harm caused by a second wave of the pandemic this autumn.

But there are serious concerns as little or no data exists on the safety or effectiveness of flu vaccines on young children.

However, the Department of Health stressed that no decision had been made on delivering the vaccination programme.

The Idiocy of Diagnosing Over The Phone - Boosting Flu Notifications To Market The Vaccine While Putting Lives At Risk

A girl died from complications arising from tonsillitis after being misdiagnosed with swine flu over the phone by a GP, her father has claimed.

Charlotte Hartey, 16, of Oswestry, Shropshire, died in Royal Shrewsbury Hospital on 31 July.

A post-mortem test found she died of natural causes though her father Karl said the coroner told the family she died from blood poisoning.

The NHS has said it is reviewing her case.

Charlotte's family said she was diagnosed over the phone by a local GP on 22 July and prescribed tamiflu.

But her condition worsened and she was admitted to hospital on 29 July. She died two days later.

Mr Hartey said: "Charlotte was misdiagnosed. She was diagnosed with swine flu over the phone and treated for something she didn't have.

"She actually had tonsillitis and that led to her developing abscesses in her lungs and blood poisoning as the bacteria spread, which ultimately killed her.

"This was a death that shouldn't have happened. No-one should die from tonsillitis in 2009."

He criticised the NHS policy of diagnosing swine flu over the phone as a "dangerous game".

2 Year Old Dies of Meningitis After She Was Diagnosed With Swine Flu!

The parents of a two-year-old girl thought to have died from meningitis after they were told she was suffering from swine flu said yesterday that she had been "failed by the system".

Georgia Keeling, from Norwich, died after being rushed to hospital on Tuesday. Her parents, Paul Sewell, 21, and Tasha Keeling, 22, said they contacted health services, including NHS Direct, the swine flu helpline and the emergency services, five times after their daughter first developed a temperature on Saturday.

The couple said that by Tuesday she had also developed a rash, bruising and had been sick, but their concerns that she might have meningitis were ignored.

They said that on two occasions they were told Georgia did not need to be admitted to hospital and after one 999 call, a paramedic arrived with Tamiflu and paracetamol. It was only after another 999 call an hour later, when her eyes had glazed over, that she was taken to hospital. Georgia suffered a heart attack and attempts to resuscitate her failed.

Speaking to a local paper, Sewell said: "I don't feel like the paramedics did their job properly. She wasn't given a chance, they had diagnosed her before even looking at herand came out ready to give her Tamiflu. She was failed by the system big time. I just want to know how come they didn't take her into hospital straight away.

Top Doctors Say Swine Flu Vaccine Vials Could Cause Hepatitis B, HIV and Even Death

The country's top infectious diseases body has written to the Government to warn the swine flu vaccine is being distributed too hastily, with too many risks for the public.

The Australasian Society for Infectious Diseases says the multi-dose vials which the vaccine will be distributed in have been shown to transmit infection, spread HIV and hepatitis, and even cause death.

The plan is to use multi-dose vials of the vaccine, which means a health worker will use needles to take more than one dose out of each vial.

"There have been episodes of bacterial contamination of vaccines, where there has been perhaps a bacterial organism growing in the vaccine, and when the patient's been injected they may have become infected with a bacteria," Dr Gottlieb said.

The vaccine companies won't make safer, single vial vaccines because they say it would take too long.

Vaccine Companies Released Virus To Population Via 'Mock up' Vaccines Prior To Pandemic

According to a WHO document discussing the safety of H1N1 vaccines, vaccine companies have deliberately released virus into the population via experimental vaccines:

'In Europe, some manufacturers have conducted advance studies using a so-called “mock-up” vaccine. Mock-up vaccines contain an active ingredient for an influenza virus that has not circulated recently in human populations and thus mimics the novelty of a pandemic virus. Such advance studies can greatly expedite regulatory approval.'

Also, according to WHO, YOU AND YOUR FAMILY are the TEST subjects:

'Time constraints mean that clinical data at the time when pandemic vaccines are first administered will inevitably be limited. Further testing of safety and effectiveness will need to take place after administration of the vaccine has begun.

For these reasons, WHO advises all countries administering pandemic vaccines to conduct intensive monitoring for safety and efficacy, and many countries have plans in place for doing so. On the positive side, mass vaccination campaigns can generate significant safety data within a few weeks.'

The Vaccine is More Dangerous Than The Disease, Says Doctor

THE RISKS associated with catching the current strain of the H1N1 virus are less than those connected with being given a new vaccine which has had limited clinical trials, according to an international commentator on swine flu.

“I believe vaccination may be right in the future – particularly if the virus becomes more virulent – but at the moment, the risks associated with vaccination outweigh the benefits,” said Dr Robert Verkerk, an environmental toxicologist who now works for the London-based Alliance for Natural Health.

“My concerns in particular are for pregnant women and babies under six months because we don’t know what the vaccine will do to young babies and unborn foetuses,” he said.

“Currently, most cases of H1N1 virus are mild. The outbreaks around the world appear to be identical and the first wave of infection is declining in intensity,” he added.

CDC Still Creating 'Deadly' Hybrid Viruses - Thanks a Lot, CDC!

Public-health officials are breathing a small sigh of relief that the H1N1 swine flu virus hasn’t mutated to become more deadly since emerging last spring. But what are the chances it will?

To find out, scientists at the CDC recently launched experiments in the agency’s labs in which they infected ferrets with both the new H1N1 virus and the highly lethal H5N1 avian flu virus to see if they might “reassort” to create a new hybrid.

The scientists want to know whether a combination of the H1N1 virus -– highly transmissible, but not terribly deadly -– and the H5N1 flu virus could create an easily transmissible, deadly scourge. The H5N1 virus has only sickened 440 people world-wide since 2003 and generally isn’t transmitted from one person to another. But it has killed 262, or about 60%, of those people, according to the World Health Organization.

The CDC scientists don’t have results of their lab experiments in ferrets yet, said Michael Shaw, associate director for laboratory science for the agency’s influenza division. While the experiments could produce viable combinations of the two viruses, the real question is whether any could create a virus that would spread, he said. “Viability is one thing,” he cautioned. “Whether it’s easily transmissible is another.”

H1N1 was Reassorted In A Lab

A virologist who has been researching the A/H1N1 virus has concluded after months of research that the ”novel” influenza was re-assorted in a laboratory from eight genes consisting of avian, swine and human type influenza A virus.

The scientist does not believe, based on intensive laboratory research of the A/H1N1 virus, that its sudden appearance in Mexico this past spring was a natural occurrence.

The reassortment of viruses occurs when one or more complete genes are exchanged enabling the virus to adapt to a new host. An example is when the avian virus switches gene with a human virus. In the case of A/H1N1, three genes were exchanged, from avian, swine, and human influenza viruses, resulting in the ressortant virus now expected to launch another deadly wave of infections in early October.

There are also signs that adaptation leading to mutation has occurred in the A/H1N1 strain. Several cases of mutated A/H1N1 have been reported from around the globe, rendering treatment with anti-A/H1N1 drugs and A/H1N1 vaccines ineffective.

The mutation of A/H1N1 has been discovered by our virologist source to have been more rapid than is naturally possible. The following is what was described in scientific terms about the rate of mutation of A/H1N1:

“Mutation takes time to occur, up to the rate of amino acid substitution. For example, for HA gene, or “duck virus,” HA has a substitution rate about 3 x 10e-4 per site per year which is slower compare to human and swine HA (about 10e-3 per site per year). If the total nucleotide number in influenza A virus HA is 1,700, then it takes three years for making a single change in the duck virus, or 1.7 year in the case of human and swine virus.”

The natural rate of mutation for a complete gene mutation, according to the virologist, takes “thousand of years to be established.”

As far as the reassortant A/H1N1 virus is concerned, there is a fear that a human was used as a laboratory “guinea pig” to permit the exchange of genes between humans, pigs, and fowl. The reasoning is that an individual was infected by avian, human and swine virus simultaneously, and the viruses exchanged genes inside the individual’s body, creating a new virus having mixed genes and then rapidly spreading to others.

Baxter Involved in More Criminal Activities

A company producing swine flu vaccine for Britain has paid millions of pounds in out-of-court settlements after being accused of fraudulently overcharging for medicines.

Baxter, the US pharmaceutical giant, reached at least seven huge settlements over the past 12 months, some of them for millions of dollars. The company had been accused of fraud amid allegations that it had overpriced medicines by as much as 1,300%.

The disclosure comes days after Baxter's vaccine, Celvapan H1N1, was given approval by the European Medicines Agency and will raise fears about the growing costs of the swine flu pandemic. Vaccines are expected to cost the government £155m over the next four years.

Baxter became involved in prolonged litigation after being accused of fraudulently overcharging Medicaid, the US health programme that provides a safety net for the poorest families. Executives from the company paid out $2m to the Kentucky state government this year. Jack Conway, the Kentucky attorney general, said: "All of this could have been easily avoided if Baxter… had done what the law requires: report truthful prices.

"Taxpayers are footing the bill for these inflated drug prices, and my office is seeking to recover the money the Medicaid programme lost as a result of this deception and overpayment."

Medicaid relies on published average wholesale prices (AWPs) to calculate the cost of medicines which pharmaceutical companies then provide at a reduced rate. But several US states have accused a series of pharmaceutical companies of grossly overinflating the AWPs. Seven other states have reached settlements with Baxter: Texas, Alabama, California, Hawaii, Alaska, Illinois and Wisconsin.

In May, Baxter was one of six pharmaceutical manufacturers that agreed to pay $89m to the state of Alabama. In February this year Baxter paid out $1.1m to Wisconsin. Three years ago the company agreed to pay out $8.5m to Texas.

Baxter was one of five companies that paid California state authorities $22.5m following accusations of Medicaid fraud, and the company also paid out $400,000 to Hawaii. In Alaska, Baxter agreed to pay compensation to settle a court claim. The company is also facing court action in Mississippi. Illinois has recovered $6.8m from Baxter, according to reports.

Despite the scandal, Baxter was one of two companies awarded the contract to produce 132 million doses of vaccine for Britain. The other company, GlaxoSmithKline, received a "positive opinion" for its drug, Pandemrix, last month. Britain is reported to have ordered enough swine flu vaccine to give each person two doses. The growing cost of the vaccines has prompted concerns from politicians, but the Department of Health and the drug companies have declined to say exactly how much each vaccine costs.

Swine Flu Vaccine Brings 7 Billion Windfall For Drug Companies

Swine flu may be sickening millions of people, but it's adding a healthy hue to the financial performance of the vaccine industry. The Boston Globe reports that the pandemic is delivering a $7 billion windfall to manufacturers.

They're using some of that avalanche of cash to invest in new technologies, while benefiting from what they've learned about fast-track vaccine development. That new knowledge and technology will be put to good use as the vaccine industry is projected to double in size in seven years. Scientia Advisors estimates that total vaccine revenue will jump from $16 billion in 2007 to $35 billion in 2014.

"With a pandemic like this, the upside for us is clearly significant,'' Andrin Oswald, chief executive of Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics, tells the Globe. "The quicker we can ramp up our volume, the better it will be for people in the United States and around the world.''

Boy Seriously ill Nearly Dies and Gets Swine Flu From The Vaccine

The safety of Northern Ireland’s swine flu vaccination programme was called into question today by the parent of a young special needs pupil who ended up in hospital just hours after getting the jab.

Anne Marie Fletcher said she feared her 15-year-old son Rhys was going to die as she rushed him to hospital less than 24 hours after receiving the swine flu vaccine.

The teenager fell seriously ill after receiving the injection, along with thousands of other pupils across Northern Ireland last Friday. He was later diagnosed with swine flu.

“My husband drove us to Antrim (Area Hospital) and I sat in the back with Rhys,” she told the Belfast Telegraph.

“By this stage he was going into spasms. He couldn’t bend his fingers. I was absolutely terrified.

“He was rambling and becoming incoherent. I honestly thought he was going to die in the back of the car.

“He kept saying he wanted to sleep but I wouldn’t dare let him close his eyes because I was frightened that if I did he would never wake up.”

The Public Health Agency, the organisation tasked with managing Northern Ireland’s response to the swine flu pandemic, has stated clearly that anyone suffering from flu-like symptoms should remain at home and contact their GP by telephone.

The experience of the Fletcher family from Carrickfergus calls into question whether Government protocols regarding the handling of swine flu are being followed. It is the latest episode to shake public confidence after the family of a Londonderry teenager who died with the virus was not informed she had it until after her funeral.

The Fletcher family’s ordeal began on Friday, several hours after 15-year-old Rhys received the swine flu vaccine at Hillcroft Special School in Newtownabbey.

“I was concerned about Rhys having the vaccination but after what I heard about the four children with special needs dying after contracting swine flu I thought it was better to be safe than sorry,” Mrs Fletcher said.

“I took him into school on Friday and he had his injection. A few hours later he started complaining of having a sore arm. He also had a temperature and he was starting to cough. During the night he started to complain that he felt sick. He was up and down most of the night retching.”

Mrs Fletcher contacted the out-of-hours GP service and was told to bring Rhys to Whiteabbey Hospital. She expressed concerns about bringing him to a hospital in light of his symptoms.

“He was in a lot of discomfort and a lot of pain. He was surrounded by people and they were objecting about him being in the waiting area. When we were eventually seen we were told he had to be referred to Antrim Area Hospital.

“My husband drove us to Antrim and I sat in the back with Rhys. By this stage he was going into spasms. He couldn’t bend his fingers, I was absolutely terrified. He was rambling and becoming incoherent. I honestly thought he was going to die in the back of the car.

“He kept saying he wanted to sleep but I wouldn’t dare let him close his eyes because I was frightened that if I did he would never wake up.”

30 Year Old Man Has Life Threatening Reaction To Swine Flu Vaccine

After receiving the Pandemrix shot at a general practitioner’s office over the weekend, the patient complained of dizziness, shaking and irregular breathing before going into anaphylactic shock and losing consciousness, the paper reported.

The doctor was able to stabilise the patient and alert emergency services, which transported him to a nearby hospital. He was released later the same day.

According to a Düsseldorf city spokesperson, such a reaction to the A/H1N1 vaccination is “very seldom,” and can also be caused by other vaccinations.

A spokesperson from the Paul Ehrlich Institute, which manages vaccines for the government, said the incident had been registered, but added that experts needed to investigate the matter further to determine exactly what caused the man’s negative reaction to the vaccination.

On Monday the national disease control and prevention agency, the Robert Koch Institute, reported that the number of new swine flu infections had doubled in just two days – confirming predictions that a wave would spread this autumn.

More Life Threatening Reactions To Swine Flu Jab And Horrific Accounts From The People Who Experienced Them

Parents of Caledonia elementary and middle school students are re-evaluating whether or not to allow their children to receive the H1N1 vaccine after nine high-school students went to the hospital Wednesday with complications from the vaccine.

“I won’t be allowing my son to take it,” Ernie Philem, the father of a fourth-grader at Caledonia Elementary, said Thursday afternoon at the school. “I had already decided before all this happened. My wife had doubts about my decision, then when this happened she’s behind me 100 percent.”

Nine students were transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital–Golden Triangle Wednesday, with symptoms ranging from hives, fever, shortness of breath and other reactions after being administered the swine flu vaccine at school, through a partnership with the Mississippi State Department of Health and the Mississippi University for Women nursing department.

One student remained in care after eight others were treated and released; another student returned to the emergency room Wednesday night.

The reactions have caused apprehension among parents.

“There’s just a little bit of hesitation,” said Shannon Voss, mother of a fifth-grader and a seventh-grader at Caledonia. “I think the vaccine is probably safe. I think it was probably just not a very good batch (Wednesday). Still, my kids are a little worried.”

Both the LCSD and Columbus Municipal School District received multiple calls from concerned parents Thursday asking if future vaccinations would proceed as planned. H1N1 vaccines will continue to be administered at the schools in concert with the MSDH and local medical professionals.

“It was just side effects,” said Jill Lester, who has a daughter at Caledonia Elementary School. “(Students) freaked out over it and (school officials) stopped it, and it was the right thing to do. But I am grateful my daughter can have this vaccine because the actual illness has killed many, whereas the vaccine has killed none.”

According to information provided to parents with vaccination consent letters, risks from the inactivated H1N1 vaccine are similar to those from the seasonal flu vaccine: soreness, redness, tenderness or swelling at the injection site, fainting, headache, muscle aches, fever or nausea. Life-threatening reactions to vaccines are rare.

After research, MSDH officials determined nothing was wrong with the vaccine doses used Wednesday at Caledonia.

“Once we ascertained what batch it was and where it was given out, it was not considered a batch problem,” said Liz Sharlot, director of communication for MSDH.

Hundreds of students were treated from the same batch with no reported problems, Sharlot added, noting allergic reactions in a small percentage of individuals are not unusual. Hundreds of students at Columbus schools and other Lowndes County schools were administered the vaccine without incident.

Lowndes County School District Superintendent Mike Halford reported two of the nine students transported to the hospital Wednesday were back in school Thursday. Others planned to return Friday or Monday.

MUW nursing students had just finished administering the vaccine to all willing CHS students when the reactions developed, prompting officials to postpone plans to continue vaccinating middle and elementary school students.

“We don’t want to give people the impression it was just a bunch of anxious kids reacting. We stopped it because of that. The reactions were far more than hives, I can promise you,” said Halford.

I am glad that Ms. Lester's child can have the vaccine. But, I can assure her that it was not a "side effect" it was a severe reaction to the vaccine that caused my child to be transported twice to the ER. My child was not "freaked out" she was confulsive, having seizures and at times catatonic. Very real and terrifying for both my daughter and us.

I am so sorry for the children that did have the reactions to the vaccination and I pray they will have a full recovery. The vaccine concerns me because it was fast-tracked. There have been no large studies done on this vaccine, and really, there are no long-term studies done on any vaccines. What is also a MAJOR concern is that the Mississippi State Dept of Health gave inaccurate information when questioned about the reactions. According to the fact sheet published by the Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, signs of a SEVERE ALLERGIC REACTION can include difficulty breathing, hoarsness or wheezing, hives, paleness, weakness, a fast heart beat or dizziness.

I disagree with everyone except AC because I was there. My friend was the first to go down and I stood over her while she gasped for breath. Then I returned later that night and watched her convulse and go in and out of responsiveness for hours. Maybe I'd take what you say seriously if you were there, but you weren't Robert, and honestly you think now the risk of H1N1 outweigh the risk of the shot, well it doesn't. I do not wish bad things on anyone, but I do not believe you have a right to comment on how "fake" and "safe" the shot is until you witness first hand you child, or best friend going through this. I watched my friend in pain, I watched her cry, and it hurt every second, I watched as they stuck needles in her arms over and over again trying to figure out the reasons for what was going on. So please, for everyone's sake, do not even try and begin to throw your hackneyed theories at the ones who were there. And Robert I'm not speaking only to you, but to everyone. And a little piece of info for you guys, 9 people have died of the vaccine. Agreed it's less that the virus, but it's still 9. It could have easily been 9 more Wednesday. I'm not a doctor, but I can copy and paste off a website all day telling you this and that, but in the end, how do we know it's the truth? They could be feeding us a bunch of bull crap and we'll never know. But I know one thing is certain, it was not "fake."

I was one of the students that was sent to the emergency room and returned for a second time. It hurts me to see all of these comments about faking and sympathetic reactions while I am at home recovering. I know that I did not voluntarily do those things. Most of the last two days are a blur to me and I can't remember much but I do know it was terrifying to wake up on Thursday and see all the bruises and needle marks in my arms and not know how I got them, and to roll over in my bed and find medical tools that were left by the EMTs. I would understand if the company would say that it was fake in order to save face but not from parents that have children my own age. Now I've heard from several people (even adults-for you speculators) that still have headaches after receiving the shot. I had mine a total of three days ago and I still have not been able to get rid of mine. If that is a side effect when will it leave? Do I have to live with this the rest of my life? Sometimes the pain is tolerable but I never wish to live with this constant pain and fear of the next seizure for the rest of my life.

HH,

You are correct about the VAERS form on the CDC web site to report adverse reactions. However, the students and parents should have been told about the VAERS report before taking the shot. As it is, the only report going up the chain will be "allergic and sympathetic reactions." Cover up complete.

If you want to see administrator's scramble, ask to buy, for testing, one of the vaccine vials given at Caledonia. No way, no how, will they let those vials be tested by a neutral source. That should tell you what is going on here.

Ask, also, why no one has admitted that seizures occured in some of the students. Why can't the parent's get an honest accounting of what transpired?

Why didn't the Commercial Dispatch reporter pin down school administrators and health officials on reported seizures instead of dutifully reporting what administrators said? Are they reporters, or mere note takers? Again, cover up complete.

As I said on another thread, there is a snake in this woodpile and we ought to find out where it is.

Parent's should be aware that autoimmune disorders (the reason Novartis vaccine's adjuvant, MF59, it unapproved) can take time to show up, long after the culprits have gotten out of town.

Make them answer now.

Soghomonian's doctor is one of a small cadre of outliers who remain skeptical about the government's unprecedented immunization campaign, citing doubts about the risks presented by the H1N1 virus or the safety of the vaccine, despite the fact that no worrisome reactions have been reported.

"My feeling is that this is all being over-hyped," said Laurence J. Murphy, a pediatrician in Burke who also will not inoculate his patients. "Most people who get this virus do beautifully. The vaccine has not been tested for safety or effectiveness. The CDC is guessing. The media pushes what the CDC is encouraging. The government pushes the CDC.There were suppose to be 120 million doses available then only 10% of the 120 million were available. The government reported the shortage when people were voicing their concern over the safety of the vaccine. Amazing! This type of news creates fear and panic.People stood out in cold weather with small children for 5 hours or more to get the vaccine because of fear. I would fear the children would become ill from exposure and being around so many people. Sad to know people will create pani in people to make money. The reactions experienced by these children should be on the news and in the newspaper. Why would a school or any shot giving venue deny or give a less of account of what actually transpired. MUW nursing students giving the injections would be the best on reactions that took place. Nurses are trained to observe adverse reactions to any medications not just flu vaccinations. The parents should ask the nurses what happened after these students were vaccinated. The public needs to know the severity of the allergic reactions. WCBI shame on you if this is being overlooked as a mild situation. Has the entire US covered up the reactions to the vaccine in order to sell their snake oil to people for profit. Since the administration provided the drug makers with protection from lawsuits if the vaccine injured someone they will not be found liable even if a student had died. Does not make me feel warm and fuzzy when a drug maker does not have to stand behind a medication even if it is harmful. Google NFL cheerleader with dystonia after flu vaccine. Student recently in another state was vaccinated without a parent consent. The student had a reaction. The school wanted the parents to sign a consent form after the fact knowing she had a reaction.

Sudden Death of Man After H1N1 Vaccine

The sudden death of a 75-year-old man at home on Friday, two days after he was vaccinated against the H1N1 (swine flu) virus may lead others to hesitate to get vaccinated, officials say.

Such an event was feared by the Health Ministry and the Prime Minister's Office, which launched an expensive vaccination campaign just a few days ago.

The death "apparently" had nothing to do with the shot, the ministry said.

The man, who lived in Bat Yam but was not further identified, had been undergoing ambulatory dialysis for acute renal insufficiency and also suffered from heart disease. His family refused to allow an autopsy, the ministry said, so the exact cause of death cannot be determined.

In the fall of 2006, after two elderly men died a few days after getting vaccinated at their health fund clinic against ordinary flu, Israelis nearly stopped getting the shots. Even then-health minister Ya'acov Ben-Yizri, 79, getting a flu shot on camera to build public confidence flopped. As a result, many hundreds of thousands of doses had to be destroyed because they are effective for only a year.

The H1N1 vaccine may also be unusable next fall and winter if the virus mutates into a different strain.

Several months ago, a ministry poll showed that at least a quarter of the public said they were not interested in getting an H1N1 flu shot. So far, the queues for getting the H1N1 flu shot have been short.

Glaxo Say That 1 in 1000 Doses of Vaccine Will Result in Life Threatening Allergic Reaction: As People Get 2 Doses Each, The Risk is 1 in 500

Since the mass immunization began in Winnipeg Monday, two people have had rare allergic reactions to it, according to the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.

"We have had two incidents involving some allergic-type symptoms," said Dr. Sande Harlos, a WRHA medical officer of health. "This is what we're prepared to deal with."

The maker of the H1N1 vaccine, GlaxoSmithKline, warns that up to one in 1,000 doses may result in an allergic reaction leading to a "dangerous decrease of blood pressure."

"That's why you're asked to wait 15 minutes afterwards," Harlos said. A severe reaction will happen within minutes of getting the shot.

By 3 p.m. Tuesday, 15,695 Winnipeggers had been immunized without incident. When someone reacts badly to the vaccine, there are medical staff on hand to help, Harlos said.

The vaccine recipient is taken to hospital to be kept under observation. Harlos said the two people who reacted badly to the vaccine -- one on Monday and one on Tuesday -- are OK. "They left in good condition."

Meanwhile, Winnipegger Janice Dehod is worried about her allergy to the mercury-based preservative thimerosal used in the vaccine.

"I know if it is in eye drops or contact lens preserver, it will make my the skin around my eyes puff up and swell in a really ugly way," she said. "I am not sure what thimerosal will do in my veins."

Harlos said unless someone has a severe egg or thimerosal allergy, they shouldn't have a severe reaction to the vaccine.

"Some people have a mild reaction when it's used topically. That isn't the same as a systemic whole-body reaction," Harlos said.

A severe allergic reaction is an anaphylactic response -- the throat closes, blood pressure plunges and airways tighten, said Dr. Joel Kettner, Manitoba's chief medical officer of health.

Dehod said she has had an adverse reaction to a flu vaccine in the past, but doesn't know if it contained thimerosal. She wishes Manitoba would obtain vaccine without thimerosal.

"I don't want to be one of those people that falls through the cracks and gets H1N1 because Manitoba Health did a pretty good job for most people and gambled with the health of those that are a little more sensitive to preservative."

Half of All School Children Sick From Swine Flu Vaccine

n a school in Sweden where the students was mass vaccinated with the poisonous Pandemrix "swine flu", half of them called in sick the day after the vaccination.
Out of 233 students, 130 reported sick the day after the shot and did not show up for school. The doctor administering the shot, Richard Eitrem, was shocked and called the headmaster of the school to find out what the status was of his patients. Many of the students went back to school the second day and this "calmed him down".

The seasonal flu is also making several students ill and according to Aftonbladet, that contributed to the high number of students calling in sick.

The article then states that only 20% to 30 % of the parents in several areas surrounding the capital Stockholm agreed to have their children vaccinated with Pandemrix vaccine.
According to a school nurse, Ingrid Scotte, that is due to hesitations towards the vaccine based on "irrelevant" information concerning side effects.

Hives, Itching and Seizure From H1N1 Vaccination

Nine Lowndes County School District students were rushed to the hospital today after apparently having reactions to the H1N1 vaccine.

H1N1 shots are being made available at schools around the state by the Mississippi Department of Health. Nine students at Caledonia High School were transported to the emergency room after apparently having a reaction to the shot, said Lowndes County Superintendent Mike Halford.

"We had seven students transported by ambulance to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle," Halford said. "Two more students were brought in by parents or family members."

Of the nine, eight had been treated and released by 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, he said.

"The H1N1 vaccine was being administered [Wednesday] at New Hope High School, New Hope Middle School and all levels at Caledonia," Halford said. "We had given the shots to the high school students, and about fifteen minutes after the shots were given we started having the issues."

Halford said that students complained of symptoms including shortness of breath, itching and hives.

"We stopped giving the shots at that time," he said.

According to Mississippi Department of Health District 6 Health Officer Rebecca James, two of the students who developed shortness of breath and hives did so because of a reaction to the shot. The others were "sympathetic reactions," she said.

"There was no evidence of an allergic reaction in those six," she said. "A sympathetic reaction is also called a 'line of sight' reaction. It's similar to what happens when one person in a cafeteria throws up, and then suddenly people around them start feeling sick as well.

"Hives can be a sign of a reaction to the shot, but they can also be caused by stress," she added. "Some of the hives could have been caused simply because the students were nervous about getting a shot. We may never know what caused those students to have those reactions."

Counting the two reactions at Caledonia High School today, James said that there have been a total of three allergic reactions to the vaccine around the state.

"That is a very mild reaction rate," she said. "I still feel very comfortable recommending that children be vaccinated against influenza, which can be deadly. I'd rather treat hives and itching that have to treat the flu."

The vaccine that was given at Caledonia was the exact same vaccine that was given at other schools in Lowndes County, she said, and there had been no other reports of problems.

There have been 16 influenza-related deaths in Mississippi so far, she said.

James said that the LCSD will continue with the H1N1 vaccinations.

"Mike Halford has been very good about handling this," she said. "He intends to offer the vaccinations at the middle and elementary schools to students who want them."

A new permission form will be sent home to students before the vaccinations commence again, she said.

Vaccinations at New Hope Elementary School and West Lowndes are scheduled for a later date.

[At 5:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon an ambulance was dispatched to a residence on Mike Parra Road when one of the Caledonia High students treated earlier in the day began having “seizures” and fever. Ed.]

4 Year Old Boy Stops Breathing And Nearly Dies From Swine Flu Shot, When He Regains Consciousness, He Says "Mommy, I Don't Want To Have Another Shot."

The almost complete cover up in Sweden regarding deaths and other severe "side effects" from the poisinous Pandemrix "swine flu" vaccine is frightening. A few stories are getting out in spite of this, like the story of Kevin, aged 4 living in Stockholm with his mom Mia who is pregnant in her third trimester.

"- I was sure he was dead" she says in an article published at first only in the printed version of the news paper Aftonbladet and later added to their site after being "reminded" by readers to do so.

Kevin sat with his father in a café when he suddenly started to shake uncontrollably. His little body arched backwards in convulsions and his eyes rolled backwards exposing only white. His mom was not far away and someone quickly fetched her saying "Mia come quickly, Kevin is really bad".

When she arrived to Kevin, a ring of people surrounded him as he was lying flat on the ground. "- His lips were completely white. I have never seen a person that white in my life. I took him in my arms and he was completely limp. My only thought was, 'He is dead, He is no longer alive' ", says his mom.

Kevin did no longer breathe. Two nurses happened to be there and they instructed Mia how to give CPR immediately. Mia started to do that while she at the same time felt she was starting to go into labor. She gave her son air as others called for an ambulance. "I lost the sense of time. But after a while his lips got their color back. He opened his eyes."

During the ride to the hospital, Kevin only expressed one fear: "Mommy, I don't want to have another shot…"

Doctors who cared for him at his arrival at the Hospital agreed that the only explanation to this was that he two days earlier got the poisonous Pandemrix "swine flu" vaccine. They also said "- He is the second one today, this is in no way unique."

The news paper contacted The Medical Products Agency in Sweden and spoke with Professor Jan Liliemark who claimed he had never heard of similar cases. "- Children can come in to states of Coma from a variety of reasons. It could be connected to the vaccination but there could also be other reasons."

Kevin's parents chose to speak about their ordeal so that other parents would be better informed than they were. They never heard that things like this could happen after a vaccination.

Mia says "- What if this would have happened at home while playing alone in his room while I was cleaning downstairs?"

ANOTHER 4 Year Old Nearly Dies After H1N1 Shot - Dad Performs CPR

A four-year-old Rochester boy is recovering after nearly dying after being vaccinated for H1N1.

Dad Cadmar Akara says his preschooler started showing symptoms shortly after getting the shot Tuesday afternoon from the Mayo northeast Family Clinic.

His parents though don't want their situation to stop others from getting the vaccine.

First, Mecha Akara said he felt weak and that his head and stomach hurt.

Dad is a nurse and gave his son Motrin.

It wasn't until Mecha threw up a number of times later that night that dad said he knew it was serious.

Mecha also had the shakes, a fever around 99-degrees, and eventually became unresponsive.

Dad then performed CPR.

Akara says, "I looked up this vaccine a little bit before the kids went in for that and it said it was very safe and they've had flu shots before and they said it was a similar vaccine and they've never had this kind of reaction to the flu shot."

Centers for Disease Control says the H1N1 vaccine, like any medicine, could cause a serious allergic reaction --- but the risk of causing serious harm or death is extremely small.

Signs of a reaction include hives, weakness, or difficulty breathing.

"We've taken no shortcuts in terms of safety and we're constantly monitoring any potential problems with the vaccine," says CDC Director Thomas Frieden.

Doctors say, four-year-old Mecha did suffer a seizure.

Cadmar credits his medical background for saving his son's life.

Cadmar Akara hopes his story reminds parents to fully investigate the vaccine to see if it's right for their child.

55 Year Old Man With No Previous Health Problems Drops Dead After H1N1 Vaccine

A 55-year-old man in Germany has died on the same night as he received the swine flu jab, the Bild newspaper reports.

The man who lived in Thüringen got his jab on Thursday morning and died in the night of Thursday/Friday.

Thuringen's Health Minister Heike Taubert has said that there will be an investigation into the sudden death of the man, who appears to have had no history of ill health, and an autopsy will be performed.

2 Chinese People Die After H1N1 Jab: School teacher Dies 8 Hours Later While Playing Basketball

Two persons are reported to have died after taking the A/H1N1 vaccination as the Chinese mainland prepares to vaccinate 65 million people, or 5 percent of its population, by the end of the year, health officials said on Friday.

A secondary school teacher in Hunan province died while playing basketball 8 hours after taking the jab, the provincial health department said on Friday afternoon.

But his death, according to preliminary findings, was not linked to the vaccine and it would not affect the ongoing H1N1 vaccination program, said Deng Haihua, spokesman for the Ministry of Health.

Deng did not give the details of the other victim. According to regulations, the local health authority where such deaths occur should be the one to announce it, he said.

So far, 15 people have suffered severe side effects including anaphylactic shocks (sudden drop in blood pressure or difficulty in breathing) after taking the jab, said Liu Dawei, a vaccination expert with the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

"These people will get free treatment and cash compensation," Liu said.

Till Thursday, more than 12 million people had been vaccinated against the H1N1 flu virus, with 1,235 complaining of side effects, the Ministry of Health said. Most of the reactions, however, have been mild and temporary.

Preliminary results of the Hunan victim's autopsy show he could have died after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest, which experts say kills more than 1,700 people in the country each day.

"The Hunan teacher's death is a coincidental medical incident," Liu said.

The exact cause of his death can be known only after all his medical records, including the final autopsy report, are studied, Deng said. But the batch of vaccines from which he got the jab has been withdrawn as a precautionary measure.

The autopsy on the other victim was likely to be performed on Friday night, Deng said.

No vaccine is risk-free, but the influenza vaccine is among the safest, said Vivian Tan, press officer of the World Health Organization's Beijing office.

"We have observed minor side effects like sore arm, red rashes, low fever and headache among the people who have taken the jab. Severe side effects are very uncommon. But it's important to monitor the situation closely," Tan said.

8 People Dead in Sweden From H1N1 Vaccine

The Swedish government's medical products agency has said that it has received reports of 8 people dying in connection with GlaxoSmithKline's Pandemrix swine flu jab from doctors and patients so far.

There is no requirement to report deaths and side effects from the swine flu jab in Sweden even though it has not been tested. A GSK study in the UK on the side effects of the GSK jab is considered adequate for Sweden. The lack of proper monitoring has sparked fears that the 8 deaths are just the tip of the iceberg.

The Swedish medical product agency has downplayed the link between the swine flu vaccine and the deaths, saying that people who died shortly after taking the jab were seriously ill from other diseases.

However, the chronically ill were one of the vulnerable group targeted for the swine flu jab on the grounds that they would derive an especial benefit from it.

The results of only four autopsies on people who died after taking the Pandemrix jab in Sweden are known.

"Autopsy results are available for four of the cases and in all these cases a relation between the vaccination and the death is considered unlikely," writes the medical products agency.

It is not clear how many people in Sweden have taken the swine flu jab making an assessment of how risky the jab is impossible.

The Swedish government has said that 2.4 million doses have been distributed but that it has no figures on how many jabs have actually been given with some medical sources reporting that only 150,000 jabs have been administered so far in Sweden.

Elderly Man Dies After H1N1 Shot - Authorities Reassure, Don't Worry, Your Chance of Serious Reaction is 1 in 100,000!

A Quebec man in his 80s died after being vaccinated against swine flu, officials said Tuesday.

They said it was too soon to determine whether the vaccine played a role in the death of the man, who had underlying health issues.

Quebec's director of public health protection, Dr. Horacio Arruda, declined to say what region the man was from or when he died, citing confidentiality concerns.

Arruda could not say why the man had received the vaccine. People over the age of 65 are not among the priority groups currently being vaccinated in the province.

He said final test results to confirm whether the vaccine played a role in the man’s death are expected in December.

Arruda said he was confident the incident would not discourage people from being vaccinated against H1N1 flu.

"I understand that everyone is worried," Arruda said, but stressed that serious reactions are "very rare phenomena."
Fewer than 1 in 100,000

Out of 6.6 million H1N1 vaccinations, there have been 36 reported serious adverse reactions to the vaccine in Canada, including the possible death, as of Nov. 7, said Dr. David Butler-Jones, Canada’s chief public health officer.

Butler-Jones told an Ottawa news conference that the number of reactions is below one serious adverse event per 100,000 people, which is in line with what officials expected.

"Actually the reactions so far to the pandemic vaccine had been less than we normally see with the seasonal vaccine," Butler-Jones said.

Butler-Jones said most of the serious problems have been anaphylactic reactions — massive allergic responses that can be life-threatening — or convulsions brought on by fever.

The vast majority of reactions to the vaccine are minor, he emphasized, such as a sore arm, a mild fever and malaise.

Federal Health Minister Leona Aglukkaq said Canadians are doing "the right thing" by being vaccinated.

2 Dead Within a Week of H1N1 Shot

Manitoba health officials are investigating the deaths of two people who died within a week of getting the H1N1 vaccine shot.

However, the province's top doctor said it's unlikely the vaccine caused their deaths.

There have been 69 "adverse events" after people received the swine flu shot, and eight were considered serious, Dr. Joel Kettner said, adding that figure falls within the expected range of reaction to the vaccine.

The Public Health Agency of Canada describes serious adverse events as:

* Events that cause life-threatening reactions such as anaphylaxis, where the body experiences a massive allergic reaction or convulsions brought on by fever.
* Events that trigger neurological reactions such as Guillain-Barré syndrome, where a person experiences a sudden onset of weakness or paralysis.
* Events that result in hospitalization, disability, birth defects or death.

The PHAC says serious adverse events following immunization are rare.

More than 200,000 people in the province have received the vaccine since clinics opened in late October.

No information about the people who died, including their ages and where they lived, has been released by the province.

Six Transported to Hospital After H1N1 Vaccine

Paramedics were called to Sacred Hearts Academy today after about a dozen people appeared to have a reaction to the H1N1 swine flu vaccine.

Officials say the apparent reactions could have a lot to do with anxiety rather than the vaccine itself.

Approximately 300 students and 100 faculty at Sacred Hearts Academy got armed against the H1N1 swine flu Monday morning in the State's school vaccination clinic.

Kindergartener Tai Martinez was one of those students.

"Under the recommendations of her pediatrician we felt confident," said Tai's mother Jade Martinez.

But school officials say about a dozen people had an apparent reaction minutes after getting vaccinated.

"It ranged from a rash on the arm, to breathing problems, their neck tightened up. A couple became nauseous. The most common complaint was light headedness," said Betty White, Head of Sacred Hearts Academy.

The clinic manager called EMS four times, and altogether paramedics took five students and one adult to the hospital.

All were released by noon, except for one student who has asthma.

My Boy's Agonizing Death After Vaccination

With trembling hands, the distraught mother stroked the yellow bear which belenged to Finlay – her beloved son. The little boy died two weeks ago at the age of 21 months after having a vaccination against swine flu.

Doctors reported the case to the Paul Ehrlich Institute as a possible result of a deadly reaction to the virus inoculation.

Mother Yvonne B. (34), a nurse for the elderly in Berlin, said: “Finlay was born with a heart defect and damaged lungs. He had been operated on four times. Now he was waiting in hospital for a new heart and a new lung.

“He was doing quite well. We went out with him everyday. He played in the leaves and liked to watch birds.”

Doctors told the parents that the tot should be inoculated, mirroring the advice of the standing committee on vaccinations.

Mom-of-three Yvonne added: “They said the side effects would be no problem, but that swine flu would be a real danger to our son. On top of that, a patient in the room next door had been diagnosed with swine flu.”

In the afternoon the boy was vaccinated. On the next day he was still laughing and happily playing around in the leaves.

But in the night, his condition suddenly worsened. He vomited and fluid got into his lung. The organ failed, and then so did his heart.

The devastated mother said: “We were called at night. Finlay fell asleep on my husband’s arm.”

Immediately a horrific thought surfaced - was the H1N1 virus vaccination to blame for the agonising tragedy?

“The assumption is simply an obvious one! At least that the vaccination played some kind of role.”

The parents consented to an autopsy of their son. “The Pathological Institute told us yesterday they couldn't exclude a connection, but also that there was nothing speaking for it compellingly.

“If I had the choice again, I would not let my son be vaccinated.”

The investigation of the boy’s death is still ongoing.

A week ago the parents carried their son to his grave. “He had an unbelievable willingness to live. We never thought for a second that he wouldn’t make it,” said his mother.

“The name Finlay means ‘small blond hero’. We had so much hope that our little hero would finally be able to start living.”

38 Year Old Woman Dies After H1N1 Jab

The family of a 38-year-old woman who died five days after receiving the H1N1 vaccine are looking for answers as to why it happened.

Soo Lee Wong and her daughter, Angela Truong, both got the H1N1 shot on Nov. 5.

Wong, who had diabetes, started getting sick a day after getting vaccinated and died a few days later, says her family.

Doctors told the family Wong died of a blood infection. More tests will be done to see if the vaccine played any role.

"Are they related to the H1N1 shot or to something else?" asked Nancy Tam, Wong's sister-in-law. "We really want to know the answer."

Meanwhile, The World Health Organization on Thursday ruled out H1N1 vaccine as the cause of death in 41 people who had received the flu shot.

WHO vaccines chief Marie-Paule Kieny said deaths investigated by health authorities so far weren’t caused by the vaccine. Further deaths were still being investigated, she added.

WHO spokeswoman Nyka Alexander said the 41 deaths examined in connection with the vaccine occurred in six countries. She was unable to say how many deaths were still being examined.

Health experts have been closely monitoring the safety of the new pandemic vaccine that is being given to millions of people worldwide.

Decades of safe influenza inoculations mean specialists aren’t expecting problems with the swine flu shot, because it’s made the same way as the regular winter flu vaccine. <

Manitoba is currently investigating two deaths -- both adults who died within seven days of getting the H1N1 shot.

Batches of H1N1 Vaccine Withdrawn After High Number of Serious Reactions

More than 100,000 doses of the H1N1 vaccine are being withdrawn across the country, after Manitoba health officials announced Thursday they'd noticed a higher-than-usual number of allergic reactions from one batch.

Vaccine manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline has asked several provinces to set aside the 170,000 doses from the questionable batch.

GSK say the batch recall is a precaution an they will investigate to see whether there is something wrong with the batch.

"GSK is taking this cautionary action because the Public Health Agency of Canada has received a higher than expected number of reports of anaphylaxis in this lot number compared to other lots," the company said in a written statement Thursday.

One or two allergic reactions are expected in a batch that size. But health officials recorded six severe allergic reactions and alerted GSK.

Dr. Joel Kettner, Manitoba's Chief Medical Officer of Health, urged people not to be alarmed, noting the anaphylaxis reactions were short-lived and all the patients recovered.

"We've been asked by the manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline not to use this vaccine at this time, pending further investigation," said Kettner at a press conference Thursday.

"We are being cautious and following the advice... to hold onto the remaining stock until we get further information."

About 1,500 doses of the vaccine were sent to Ontario, but officials say none were administered. Officials are now shelving them until the investigation is complete.

The Alberta government has stopped giving out doses from the same batch, although it says it has not seen a jump in allergic reactions.

Health officials say the batch being investigated is fairly small, so it should not have an impact on the overall supply.

Earlier this week, the country's chief public health officer, Dr. David Butler-Jones, noted that of the 6.6 million doses of H1N1 vaccine given so far to Canadians, there have been 36 serious adverse reactions reported.

Most involved allergic reactions that began within minutes of vaccination. All were treated promptly by medical people at the vaccination site.

Milder side effects, such as nausea, soreness, headaches and fever, have also been seen, which is not unexpected. Seasonal flu vaccines have been known to cause such reactions every year.

One person is believed to have died from an anaphylactic reaction following vaccination, but Butler-Jones stressed the death hasn't been conclusively linked to the flu shot.

Paramedics Called After Group of Children Have Reactions to H1N1 Vaccine at School

A "handful" of Sacred Hearts Academy students were taken to Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children after receiving swine flu shots or nasal spray at the school this morning, school principal Betty White said.

"One reported feeling light-headed, one had a stomach ache and one reported a rash," White said.

White said it is not clear that the symptoms reported by the students were due to a reaction from the flu inoculations.

All but one of the students were sent home from the hospital by 2 p.m., White said. One girl, who suffered from asthma, was held a little longer for chest X-rays, White said.

Janice Okubo, spokeswoman for the state Department of Health, which has organized swine flu immunization clinics at public and private schools across the state, said it is not at all unusual for people who get a swine flu shot to feel light-headed or a bit nauseous immediately after the injection.

"We recommend that they sit and rest for about five minutes after getting the shot," Okubo said.

The site of the injection can feel sore and itchy afterwards as well, Okubo said.

Okubo said a major immunizatioin clinic was held at Moanalua Middle School on Friday and there were virtually no adverse reactions among the 400 students there who participated.

"Were not aware of any significant responses that would warrant worry on the part of parents," Okubo said.

White said 281 Sacred Hearts students opted for injections while 106 requested the nasal spray version. Most were in the elementary grades, White said.

Eight students reported a reaction and city paramedics were called to the school as a precaution, White said.

"We were just following policy in calling the paramedics," White said.

Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city Emergency Services Department, said city paramedics were sent to the school three different times this morning.

The first call for assistance was received at 9:27 a.m. and a girl under the age of 10 who was complaining of shortness of breath was taken in stable condition to an area hospital, Cheplic said.

At 10:16 a.m., paramedics were called back to the school and transported two more adolescent students in stable condition to a nearby hospital. One was complaining of stomach pains and the other of being light-headed, Cheplic said.

The third all came at 11:22 a.m. and an adult female at the school was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition. Cheplic said he did not know what the medical complaint was.

A second ambulance crew on the third visit took two more adolescent females to a nearby hospital in stable condition. Cheplic said both girls were complaining of abdominal pain and blurry vision.

In addition, paramedics treated and released three adults and other child at the school, Cheplic said.

Woman Says H1N1 Vaccine Caused Heart Problems

Agathe Robitaille, a Canadian from Quebec, has said that she is convinced that the swine flu jab she got on October 26th resulted in her subsequent health problems and the implantation of a heart pacer, according to a report in Le Journal de Quebec.

She said that doctors could not prove it was the vaccine but they could not prove it was not the vaccine either.

Death After Swine Flu Vaccine in the UK, DOH 'Aren't Concerned'

One person has died after being given the Government’s new swine flu vaccination.

It is the first death to be linked to the new Pandemrix jab and comes on top of a further 1,329 reports of suspected adverse reactions in just four weeks.

But experts investigating the death say it was likely to have been caused by the patient’s ‘significant underlying health conditions’ rather than the vaccine itself.

The most frequent reactions to Pandemrix are pain and swelling at the injection site, vomiting, dizziness and fever.

There have been two cases of anaphylactic shock, one child experienced arthritis and two had seizures, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency said. A link to the jab has not been established.

A Department of Health spokesman said: ‘There are no concerns about these reports.’

VAN UK's Comment: 'Aren't Concerned'? That's charming! It seems they never are concerned if people get sick or die from their drugs. Perhaps if they took these reports more seriously, people would have more confidence in their vaccination programme.

2 Men in Denmark Dead After Swine Flu Vaccine

The vaccine against swine influenza work, although two men have died after receiving the injection.

There is no reason to panic or worry. It proposes Kari Mølbak, chief physician at Statens Serum Institut, solid.

Today it emerged that two men have died of swine flu in Denmark. They were both chronically ill and therefore at risk as authorities pay particular attention to, says the Kari Mølbak.

Coincidence

One man is in the early 60s and died in a hospital at Hvidovre Hospital. The second is in their 30s, died 12th November at his home in Copenhagen.

Three Danes are far died of H1N1 - swine flu. Besides the two men died a Dane in September in Norway.

Source: http://politiken.dk/indland/article840915.ece

VAN UK's Comment: They can't use the excuse that they died because they were sick, when the vaccine is supposed to prevent sick people from dying, which is why they are in the target group.

If the person was showing symptoms at the time of vaccination, it would have to be deferred. Since these people had NO symptoms of swine flu prior to the shot, it may well have caused their death and their pre-existing illness is the perfect excuse

They then say the only deaths from H1N1 in Denmark were these vaccinated men!

200 Dead From Swine Flu Jab in Canada

British drugs giant GlaxoSmithKline has has warned the Canadian medical authorities that a batch of its anti-H1N1 vaccine can trigger potentially dangerous allergic reactions. The Canadians have withdrawn the batch from use and are testing it after it produced a range of serious reactions, notably in the heart and lungs. The recall affects 172,000 dises of the Arepanrix vaccine.

“We’ve been asked by the manufacturer GSK not to use this vaccine at this time pending further investigation,” said Manitoba chief medical officer Joel Kettner.

Thirty-six Canadians, including one little boy whose face swelled up like a balloon, suffered severe allergic reactions after vaccination. 200 others died.

“It is a serious thing that has the potential to kill – but fortunately seems to be relatively rare,” said Dr Neil Rau, an infectious disease specialist.

Canada has been particularly badly hit by the flu virus, and has vaccinated around a fifth of its population, or nearly seven million people, already. GSK has sold seven point five million doses to Canada.

2 Year Old Toddler Dies After H1N1 Vaccine

A toddler from Nazareth died Thursday at home, three days after receiving a swine flu vaccination at Rambam Medical Center in Haifa.

The two-year-old, who had a pacemaker and had been undergoing weekly dialysis at Rambam, had been inoculated in the pediatric nephrology department where she was being treated.

However the vaccine was allegedly given against Health Ministry regulations, which permit only children over the age of 3 to receive the shots currently available in Israel.

The vaccines now being given in Israel contain adjuvant, which helps improve the immune system. However, this component has not been proven safe for children under 3 and pregnant women, therefore Israel and some other countries, Canada, for example, are not inoculating these groups with vaccines containing adjuvent. Vaccines without this component are to arrive in Israel starting next week.

An autopsy performed Thursday at the Abu Kabir Institute of Forensic Medicine in Tel Aviv revealed that the toddler died of complications from her kidney condition, not from the vaccine. The institute said the results of additional tests would be ready in about a week.

The Health Ministry said that more than 65 million people have been inoculated worldwide without incident, including many children, and that the vaccine meets all standards of safety and efficiency and is recommended by the World Health Organization.

Rambam Medical Center released the following statement: "Although there is apparently no connection between the toddler's death and the inoculation, the hospital director instructed that immediate clarification be undertaken of the events in the days preceding her death. We all hope that the autopsy will help clarify the reasons for her death."

This is the third death following inoculation against swine flu in Israel. The first, soon after the inoculations started, was a 75-year-old Bat Yam dialysis patient who died three days after receiving the shot in the hospital. At the beginning of this week, a 57-year-old dialysis patient died at Soroka Medical Center in Beer Sheva, two weeks after receiving the vaccine.

Out of some 10,000 Israelis who have so far been vaccinated, the Health Ministry said this week that there have been 43 reported cases of side effects from the inoculation, including several cases involving swelling and redness around the site of the shot, respiratory distress, allergies and headaches; one patient complained of limited hand movement.

Boy Goes into Shock After Having H1N1 Vaccine

Seconds after getting his H1N1 flu shot, Ursula Fournier’s son Max went limp, his blood pressure dropped and he had trouble breathing.

The four-year-old had never had an allergic reaction before the incident at a Halifax vaccination clinic on Nov. 3, Ms. Fournier said Wednesday.

She said the clinic nurse laid Max on the floor, administered a shot of epinephrine (adrenalin) and called 911.

The boy was taken to the IWK Health Centre’s emergency department, where he was monitored for any further reaction. Max quickly recovered and has been fine since then.

The Health Department sent the file to the Fournier family doctor, who has referred Max to an allergy specialist, Ms. Fournier said.

She called the experience scary and frustrating. She has yet to hear from the specialist’s office and she’s also not happy with the department’s handling of the situation.

She has spoken to officials over the phone but said the only information she was given was that the file would be sent to her doctor.

"I assumed there would be some kind of followup meeting," Ms. Fournier said. "Maybe to see what he had to eat that day, how he was before. But nobody interviewed us, nobody asked a question, nothing at all."

Under Capital Health procedures, vaccine reaction cases are documented by the nurse on duty, a spokesman said. Those files are sent to the patient’s doctor.

"As a public health service, their main role . . . would be keeping in contact with the family physician or a specialist, if there’s a need to involve a specialist," John Gillis said Wednesday.

Ms. Fournier said she has seen little information on vaccine reactions or the extent of the problem in the province.

"I’m wondering, are there other parents who have gone through similar things?" she said. "I don’t know what’s been documented."

Six people have experienced anaphylactic shock in Nova Scotia since the H1N1 vaccination program began, Dr. Robert Strang, the province’s chief medical officer, said at a news conference Wednesday.

All six have recovered.

"We expect to see anaphylaxis as a rare complication, not just with vaccine," Dr. Strang said. "It is a potential risk with any medication."

That’s why people are asked to wait 15 minutes at the clinic after getting their shot, he said.

Clinic nurses have the training and equipment to deal with allergic reactions. According to national statistics, no more people are having severe reactions to the H1N1 vaccine than to seasonal flu vaccines, Dr. Strang said.

Ms. Fournier said the clinic nurse handled the situation well. She was given a prescription for an epinephrine injector in case Max has another reaction.

"All I’m hearing about is, get the vaccine, get the vaccine," she said. "But when you get it and something happens, and then there’s no answers as to why it happened, it’s very frustrating and concerning."

Guillain-Barre Syndrome From H1N1 Vaccine

A Hamilton adult got Guillain-Barré syndrome after getting the H1N1 flu shot.

Health Canada lists GBS as a rare side effect of flu shots. The chances of getting it from a vaccination are one in a million.

Mackie points out that the risk of getting GBS from influenza itself is much higher at four to seven per 100,000.

“It’s 40 to 70 times as likely,” he said. “The main message is that all evidence gathered to date suggests that this vaccine is quite safe. It suggests there is not an increased risk of GBS with this vaccine. And it suggests that getting the vaccine is a lot safer than not getting the vaccine.”

The Hamilton adult came down with GBS three weeks after getting the adjuvanted vaccine. However, the patient also had a mild viral illness about 10 days prior to the onset of symptoms, which could be responsible for the GBS.

The illness has many causes including influenza as well as other respiratory or gastrointestinal viral infections.

Most people have a full recovery.

This was not a severe case and the person is recovering at home.

Two Elderly Women Dead After H1N1 Vaccine

Health investigators are under more pressure as two elderly women are reported to have died, days after receiving the swine flu vaccine. It brings the total number of deaths linked to the vaccine in Sweden to four.
The two latest deaths were reported to the Swedish Medical Products Agency (Läkemedelsverket) on Friday.

A 74-year-old woman from Sollefteå in northern Sweden died four days after receiving the swine flu vaccine.

The woman, who suffered from heart and lung disease, was classified as a high-risk patient.

“Naturally a report will be undertaken,” said Dr. Markus Kallionen in a press statement released by Västernorrland County Council.

“We must take this case seriously and investigate what has happened.”

A further case of a 90-year-old woman who also died after receiving the vaccine has been reported by newspaper Expressen.

Läkemedelsverket are currently investigating circumstances surrounding the deaths of two high-risk patients, a 50-year-old man with a serious heart condition and woman with an acute muscle disease.

“It’s important to says that they had complicated illnesses,“ Gunilla Sjölin Forslund from Läkemedelsverket told news agency TT.

“We still do not know if the deaths are connected to the vaccine.”

Sweden launched a mass vaccination programme in a bid to control the flu pandemic on October 12th.

Cases of swine flu reached record levels last week with 198 new cases in comparison to 93 the previous week.

21 Year Old Man Dead After H1N1 Vaccine

A 21-year-old man in Karben, Germany, died one day after getting the swine flu jab at his GPs, reports the FAZ.

An autopsy is to be carried out to establish whether he died as a result of the jab. The 21-year-old had a history of illness and the chronically ill are a target group designated by WHO for the jab.

Another Man Dies in Sweden After H1N1 Shot, Making A Total of 9 Deaths From the Shot

Aftonbladet reports that a man in his fifties died after having received the poisonous Pandemrix "swine flu" shot. He had been through a heart transplant operation and the shot made his body reject the new heart. Authorities in Sweden are now afraid fewer will want to take the vaccine.

"- It can not be said it was wrong to vaccinate this man. We do write on our home page that people who have been through heart transplants belong to the risk group and should get vaccinated. But we have new knowledge now which we can learn from." says Ingemar Persson, case investigator at the Swedish Medical Products Agency. "- The vaccine is the direct or indirect cause of this mans death." he continues.

Several involved agencies and departments will hold a press conference today to try to calm down worried citizens and again claim that the vaccine is "tested and safe".

The official death toll in Sweden is now nine but our sources claim there might be as many as 80 deaths. Then there are also many reports about abortions as a result of the shot, just like in other parts of the world. Officials are desperate to declare any deaths in proximity to the vaccinations as coincidental and therefor the official numbers can not be trusted. In fact, the whole official story regarding the "swine flu" in Sweden can no longer be trusted since it is clear that media together with the Swedish authorities have been and still are engaged in a massive propaganda campaign to vaccinate as many as possible without any clear declared reasons or logic.

The ties between scientists, politicians and the Pharma industry and WHO is also not clarified.

This is by far the biggest medical scandal in modern times in Sweden.

Russia Thinking About Withdrawing From UN/WHO On Account of WHO Corruption and Swine Flu Scandal

A Russian deputy of the Duma has called for Russia to withdraw from the WHO if an investigation into the alleged collusion between the WHO and pharmaceutical companies on the swine flu scandal proves to be accurate, according to reports in the European media.

Igor Barinov, Member of the Commission of the State Parliament (Duma) in Charge of Corruption, said that there needed to be an investigation into whether experts advising WHO received money from pharmaceutical industry and whether this influenced WHO to declare a pandemic level 6 emergency for the first time in 40 years in spite of the fact that the swine flu is neither lethal nor spreading rapidly.

Danish journalists belonging to "Information" concluded that the swine flu could be the biggest case of corruption in our era after examining links between experts of WHO and the pharmaceutical companies.

WHO recommended the purchase of the controversial Swiss-based Roche’s Tamilfu in spite of evidence the drug causes serious side effects. The Ukrainian ministry for health bought large and excessive stocks of Tamiflu.

“The organization is suspected of corruption. We certainly must carry out a meticulous inquiry before making any decision,” Barinov declared on Friday to journalists.

“If the information is confirmed, we will have to put the question of whether it makes sense for Russia to belong to WHO, and to suspend our membership if necessary”.

Russia has spent more than 4 billion roubles so far on the swine flu.

Barinov suggested making the head of the investigation of WHO, the Russian representative in this organization, the member of the executive committee of WHO, Vladimir Starodoubov.

“Nobody calls into question the services rendered in the 20th century by WHO in the fight against the malaria, AIDS, but today it should asked whether this organization is not struck itself by the virus of corruption, and up to what point these recommendations are founded, up to what point can we trust it,” said Barinov.

The director of the Russian National Sanitary Surveillance Institute Guennadi Onichtchenko said in a meeting with the general prosecutor of the federation of Russia for legislation in the pharmaceutical field that the fight against the swine flu in the world has the characteristics of a plot.

There is also mounting evidence WHO was instrumental in spreading AIDs.

Man Dies of Cerebral Haemorrhage After H1N1 Vaccine

A South Korean student had died of cerebral hemorrhage after receiving A/H1N1 vaccine, while health authorities said the death case is not associated with the vaccine, local media reported on Monday.

According to the Ministry for Health, Welfare and Family Affairs, a student, whose identity has not been revealed, died of cerebral hemorrhage on Saturday, four days after being inoculated with the A/H1N1 vaccine.

Investigation jointly carried out by experts, the health ministry, the Korea Food and Drug Administration and the National Institute of Scientific Investigation showed that there is not direct causality between the vaccine and the victim's cerebral hemorrhage, the ministry said.

Computer tomography showed serious bleeding in the brain that could indicate a prior dangerous medical condition, so the death may have been caused by an aneurysm, or an extreme swelling on the wall of an artery, in the brain, local media quoted experts who took part in the investigation as saying.

The health authorities also conducted an investigation to 516 students out of a total of 966 students who received the vaccine from the same production batch, and only 70 cases reported with minor side-effects.

Girl Suffers Extreme Pain in Legs, Cannot Walk and Hospitalised Since H1N1 Vaccine

California public health officials say they have received nine reports of suspected severe side effects associated with the swine flu vaccine out of millions administered since health care providers began this fall.

One patient had a severe allergic reaction and recovered, said Ken August, spokesman for the California Department of Public Health. In two cases, the reactions were unrelated to the vaccine, he said in a written statement, without elaboration.

People rarely experience serious adverse events following immunization, according to officials of a national vaccine reporting system. Health care experts say it can be nearly impossible to link an adverse reaction to a vaccine unless a pattern can be shown.

Maria Garcia, of Moreno Valley, said doctors told her they may never be able to confirm that her 8-year-old daughter, Anahi, suffered a severe adverse reaction to a swine flu vaccine. The third-grader is recovering from extreme leg pain that she began suffering about four days after she and her older sister received swine flu vaccinations Nov. 3.

Anahi was healthy before she got vaccinated, her mother said. The pain became so severe that Anahi couldn't walk and was hospitalized, Garcia said. A physical therapist has been helping the child, who returned to school this week, her mother said.

"I would have risked her getting the swine flu and getting her treated right away rather than go through this," said Garcia, adding that doctors ruled out almost all possible conditions, including Guillian-Barre syndrome, lupus, arthritis and neuromuscular disorders.

Guillian-Barre syndrome is a side effect associated with flu vaccines that results in muscle tingling and weakness. August said the state Public Health Department is investigating one possible case of Guillian-Barre syndrome involving a patient who was vaccinated within six weeks before onset of symptoms.

In another case, officials cannot determine the cause, and four other cases are being investigated, August said.

Dr. Mark Horton, California's public health director, repeatedly has said that most adverse reactions to the swine flu vaccine have been minor. He strongly has advised people to get vaccinated if they can because the benefits outweigh potential side effects.

Inland public health officials said they have not received reports of suspected serious adverse reactions associated with the vaccine for swine flu, also known as the H1N1 virus.

August said the state Public Health Department reviews reports made to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System managed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The department then investigates reports of serious adverse reactions, he said.

Reporting reactions

Anyone, including health care providers, patients and relatives, can report what they suspect are adverse vaccine reactions to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, created in 1990. Doctors and patients sometimes unknowingly report the same adverse reactions. An estimated 30,000 reactions are reported to the system annually.

The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System has received at least 3,182 reports about the swine flu vaccine, almost all of which have been described as minor side effects.

The system database includes reports from California and at least 24 other states of allergy-like reactions and injection-site redness, soreness and swelling since the end of October.

However, 177 reports included life-threatening reactions, deaths, major disabilities, abnormal conditions at birth and hospitalizations, according to the most recent data collected by the system as of Nov. 20. Of those reports, 11 involved deaths. Ten were reports of Guillian-Barre syndrome.

Canadian Health Ministry Admits 48 Cases of Anaphalaxis After H1N1 Shots

The Public Health Agency of Canada says there have been 48 cases of a severe allergic reaction reported in people who have had H1N1 shots.

The agency says that was as of the week of Nov. 20, when nearly 12.3 million doses of vaccine had been distributed across the country. The rate of anaphylactic reactions is 0.39 per 100,000 doses, which the agency says doesn't exceed the normal rate seen for the administration of vaccines.

Anaphylaxis is the type of severe allergic reaction seen in people with severe food or insect sting allergies and must be treated quickly with adrenaline.

The Public Health Agency says one of the cases of anaphylaxis was fatal and is being investigated.

One lot of GlaxoSmithKline's pandemic vaccine was put on hold because it was linked to a higher-than-normal number of cases of anaphylaxis.

The agency says seven of the cases of anaphylaxis were in people who received shots from that batch of vaccine.

500 Irish Have Side-Effects to H1N1 Vaccines Including 1 Death After Only 300,000 Doses Administered

ALMOST 500 people have developed suspected adverse reactions from the swine flu vaccine, new figures show.

At least 300,000 doses of the vaccine have been administered to date, but no serious safety issues have yet been identified, according to the Irish Medicines Board (IMB).

The most frequent adverse reactions have been fever, nausea, headache and allergic effects. These reports are consistent with the expected pattern of adverse reactions for the vaccines, according to the board.

The two versions of the vaccine – GlaxoSmithKline’s Pandemrix and Baxter’s Celvapan vaccine – have attracted similar numbers of suspected adverse reactions. The IMB says the balance of risks and benefits for both vaccines remain positive.

The general pattern of adverse reactions in Ireland is reflected across Europe where some 10 million people have been vaccinated against swine flu, according to the European Medicines Agency.

Officials say adverse reactions are not necessarily caused by the vaccine. They could be a symptom of another illness or they could be associated with another product taken by the patient.

Healthcare professionals are actively encouraged to report any suspected adverse events following vaccination.

By last Thursday the Pandemrix vaccine had received a total of 234 adverse reaction reports.

The most frequently reported suspected reactions were “injection site” reactions (such as pain, swelling, redness), gastro-intestinal symptoms (nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea) and flu-like symptoms (pain, fever, fatigue and swollen glands).

Last week also, the European Medicines Agency warned that young children may experience fever after their second dose of the Pandemrix vaccine. Following an ongoing clinical trial, the agency said this information should be included in the prescribing information, and be taken into consideration when deciding whether to give a second dose to children.

Of the suspected overall number of adverse reactions, the IMB received 14 reports relating to pregnant women. The reactions included dizziness, pins and needles and weaknesses in vaccinated limbs. There have been two reports of “facial palsy” – weakness of the facial muscles – following vaccination. An investigation is ongoing to establish whether these can be directly linked to the vaccine.

There has been a similar pattern in relation to the Celvapan vaccine, which has formed the basis for 233 suspected adverse reactions. These include injection site reactions, flu-like illness and allergic-type reactions. There have also been reports of nausea and vomiting, some of which were serious and required treatment. Also, one patient died 10 days after being vaccinated with Celvapan.

School Cancels H1N1 Vaccine Programme After 9 Students Taken To Hospital, For Fear of Litigation

The Lowndes County School District has decided not to complete its first round of H1N1 flu vaccine injections.

After nine Caledonia High School students were taken to the emergency room Nov. 4 for adverse reactions to the vaccine, LCSD Superintendent Mike Halford said Thursday, students who did not receive the first round of injections would not receive the vaccine at school.

“We’re not going to finish the schools. There were too much problems we had on that part. The liability part,” said Halford.

Caledonia Elementary and Middle schools, West Lowndes Elementary and Middle schools and New Hope kindergarten through third-graders did not receive the vaccine before injections — which were administered by Mississippi University for Women nursing students through a partnership with the Mississippi State Department of Health — were halted after students complained of symptoms including shortness of breath, hives and fever.

The LCSD had intended to continue with the injections, but Halford said school officials experienced difficulty validating signatures on parental permission slips.

29 Year old Man Paralysed By H1N1 Shot

He shapes his lips to form the words 'Fucking Syringe', whilst on a ventilator

A 29-year-old man placed on a ventilator after being vaccinated against swine flu, reports Västgöta-sheet.

- It's terrible, "said the mother told the paper.

Now doctors suspect that the man suffered from a neurological disease which coincided with the vaccination.

The man got vaccinated against swine flu on Tuesday last week.

- On Wednesday, he had a sore arm, on Thursday he had a sore back. On Friday, he was tingling in fingers and legs, "says 29-year old mother of Västgöta-sheet.

When the symptoms worsened further on Saturday he called for medical advice, but according to his mother he was told to rest and take painkillers. Then he phoned his mother.

"It was horrible, I hardly heard it was him, he sounded slurred and said he had crept up to the phone, "says the mother of Västgöta-sheet.

Respirator

The mother went straight home to her son and realized immediately that he needed treatment.

"When he would sit on the sofa, his head fell to the side in different directions and the body also, "she Västgöta-sheet.

She called again to health care information organized by ambulance to Skaraborg Hospital. Where doctors thought that 29-year-old needed care at the Sahlgrenska Hospital in Gothenburg.

The man is now paralyzed and placed on a ventilator, but is fully conscious.

- He shapes his lips. He says "Bloody Syringe" and so he asks for his girlfriend, "said the mother told the paper.

The hospital has given the man a five-day treatment. Helen Sandgren, press officer at the Sahlgrenska, told Aftonbladet that it is investigating what caused the man's condition.

According to 29-year old's mother, the man regained some mobility in the limbs.

According Västgöta-blade pointing the symptoms of that 29-year-old has Guillain-Barre syndrome, a neurological disorder.

The newspaper said that about 150 people in Sweden become ill each year. Guillain-Barré syndrome is an ascending motor paralysis of the muscles. If the paralysis affects the respiratory system needs to hit the help of a respirator. Usually, paralysis back after treatment, said Västgöta-sheet

"They say most people recover completely, but you do not know, "says 29-year old mother of Västgöta-sheet.

6 Year old Boy Gets Severe Swine Flu 10 Days After Shot and Nearly Dies

A 6 year old boy got severe swine flu 10 days after being vaccinated with H1N1 shot.

He started coughing and then had difficulty breathing and was taken to the hospital where he was given Tamiflu and placed on a ventilator.

After 5 days he regained his ability to breathe and he has now gone home. The doctors denied the vaccine caused it and said the vaccine didn't have time to work before he got the illness. They even suggested that if he hadn't been vaccinated it would have been even worse. They had no proof for either of these statements, of course.

The latent phase, whereby a person exhibits side-effects days after a vaccine, often 10 days later, has been well documented in medical journals since the 1930's.

9 Year Old Boy Has Cardiac Arrest and Dies After H1N1 Vaccine - Court Investigating His Death

Investigation after the death of a child vaccinated

Should we attribute to the vaccine against influenza A death of a child 9 years Tuesday in Haute-Loire? This is the question that will meet the floor of Le Puy-en-Velay. The court said yesterday it had opened an investigation to determine why the death of the boy's fragile health, which had been vaccinated a few days earlier against the H1N1 virus.

The day of vaccination, December 4, and the next day the child felt tired and feverish and complained of headaches. Again febrile diarrhea victim Monday, December 5, he was eventually transferred to hospital on Tuesday, where he died after a cardio-vascular. Failing to identify a clear cause to the death, the doctor warned the hospital authorities have alerted the court. The investigation, opened Wednesday, has been entrusted to the police to establish the causes of death and a possible link with the vaccine. The autopsy, which took place Thursday in Saint-Etienne (Loire), did not establish this link or dismiss. Samples were taken and will be analyzed in the coming days. "There seems to have had small complications after vaccination, but no conclusion can be drawn for the moment," said the prosecutor.

"There is no time to make a link with the vaccine"

"This child had a history of important infectious and had been hospitalized several times for pneumonia, but there is no time to make a link with the vaccine," says it does to the French Agency for Safety Products health (AFSSAPS). Since the start of the vaccination campaign, 33 severe cases potentially attributable to the vaccine and had resulted in hospitalization were reported to Afssaps: cases of facial paralysis, edema, convulsions, tingling in the members.
Mid-November, a young woman without history had lost her fetus of 38 weeks two days after being vaccinated. After examination, the presence of H1N1 was detected in fetal tissues. "The mother was probably the virus in her and her baby died of influenza, no vaccine," said Professor Jean-Philippe Derenne, department head and chest resuscitation at Pitie-Salpetriere (Paris XIII). "The vaccine is not infective product, insists his side Marimbert Jean, Director General of Afssaps. The strain used was killed and therefore can not contaminate. It serves only to induce antibodies. "
"A vaccine is a therapeutic tool and all the therapeutic tools may present a risk, but to my knowledge, there have been no deaths reported so far following a vaccination against H1N1, says Jean-Philippe Derenne. Fifteen million people were vaccinated in Europe and this has clearly helped prevent many deaths due to influenza A. "In France, by Sunday, 3.5 million people in total have been vaccinated. The France is currently the only European countries where the epidemic progresses.

Hundreds Fall ill After Having Swine Flu Jab

Swine flu vaccine has caused adverse reactions in 619 people to date, varying from seizures and anaphylactic shock to fainting and vomiting.

Two more people have died from the flu but the number of people falling ill with the virus has halved in the past week.

More than 400,000 vaccinations against swine flu have been carried out, according to the latest figures from the Irish Medicines Board which details the reported side effects for both forms of the vaccines -- Pandemrix and Celvapan.

Of the 619 people who showed side effects to the vaccine, 52 had an allergic reaction and three of these went into anaphylactic shock.

Altogether 210 children reacted adversely to the vaccine, 15 with an allergic reaction and some of the children needed hospital treatment as a result.

Forty pregnant women reported side effects, four of them allergic and one woman, with a history of miscarriage, lost her baby.

Six people had seizures, two people reported facial palsy and the IMB was made aware of the death of one patient 10 days after vaccination but says the patient had an underlying condition and there was no evidence of a link between the vaccine and the patient's death.

7 Adult Deaths and 1 Fetal Death in the UK Following H1N1 Vaccine

Up to and including Tuesday 8th December 2009, MHRA has received a total of 2,024 UK
reports of suspected ADRs to the H1N1 vaccines, which include 5,410 suspected reactions (a
single report may contain more than one reaction).
3. Reports of suspected adverse reactions to Pandemrix make up 88% (n=1,773) of all reports
received for H1N1 vaccines to date. This is not unexpected given the presumed difference in
the extent of use of the two vaccines3. The brand of vaccine used was not reported in 11%
(n=234) of reports. Although brand is not confirmed for these reports, the vast majority are likely
to relate to Pandemrix given the wider usage of this vaccine.
4. The total number and the nature of suspected adverse reactions reported so far is very
much as expected at this stage in the immunisation campaign. The most frequently
reported suspected adverse reactions continue to be injection site reactions (e.g. pain, swelling,
redness) or other generalised symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness muscle pain,
fever, fatigue, headache and swollen glands. In general, these are not serious and are short
lasting. For the isolated cases of other medical conditions reported, the available evidence
does not suggest that the vaccine caused the condition and these may have been coincidental
events.
5. Eight deaths, including one case of intra-uterine death, following Pandemrix have been
reported in the UK to date. Seven cases concerned adults. There is currently no suggestion
that the vaccine contributed to any of these deaths. Such cases will be kept under close review.
Across Europe, it is estimated that more than 200,000 pregnant women have now been
vaccinated with H1N1 vaccines. The number of cases of adverse pregnancy outcomes
reported to date does not exceed what would be expected based on normal background rates
in the absence of vaccination. There remains no evidence of any risks to pregnancy.
6. One UK case of suspected Guillain Barre Syndrome (GBS) has been reported to MHRA to
date. Further information is awaited in order to assess diagnostic certainty.

Doctor is Suing DOH After H1N1 Vaccine Kills His Healthy 7 Year old Son

A physician whose seven-year-old son died 32 days after receiving an H1N1 flu vaccine said yesterday that he intends to sue the Department of Health (DOH).

Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Director-General Steve Kuo (郭旭崧) said yesterday that the CDC respects the Taichung County doctor’s decision but the Department of Health had no plan to change the nationwide influenza H1NI immunization program.

“It is still safer for you to get the shot,” Kuo said. “There is also no evidence at present to link the boy’s death to the vaccine.”

Kuo said the boy’s father called the 1922 H1N1 vaccination consultation hotline on Dec. 2 after his son developed a high fever and a skin rash. The boy had received an H1N1 shot on Nov. 19.

Kuo said Deputy Department of Health Minister Chang Shan-chwen (張上淳) and CDC experts immediately held an emergency telephone conference with the child’s father to offer help, but the boy died on Monday.

“We are all sorry we were unable to help,” Kuo said.

After preliminary discussions, the experts concluded that the boy’s death was unrelated to the vaccination, Kuo said, adding that an immune system problem was a possible cause of death.

“The boy’s parents are welcome to request an investigation into the case to allow experts to make a more comprehensive, independent judgment,” Kuo said.

Another Report of the Same 7 Year old Dying of Sepsis After Vaccination

A gynecologist is planning to sue the Centers for Disease Control over the death of his seven-year-old son after receiving the A (H1N1) flu virus vaccine, reports said Tuesday.

The CDC denied there was a link between the two and said it would continue its present inoculation campaign.

The Taichung boy, surnamed Liu, did not have any history of medical problems before being immunized at school on November 19, said Chang Yao-tsung, an opposition Democratic Progressive Party member of the Taichung City Council speaking on behalf of the child’s parents.

His health started deteriorating the following day, with red blotches appearing on the sole of his feet. The boy’s father, a gynecologist only mentioned with his surname Liu, took him to a local private clinic where he was told the problem might be a skin disease or an allergy provoked by the vaccine.

The father thought the rashes might disappear after taking medicine for two weeks, but instead they spread all over his body, according to Chang.

On November 28, Liu also contacted the CDC, which denied the problems were caused by the vaccine, Chang said.

Desperate for a solution, Liu checked his son into a hospital and transferred him twice, looking for more tests and expensive treatments. Some doctors said there was a problem with his son’s immune system.

The seven-year-old officially died of sepsis Monday, more than a month after being inoculated.

Since the boy held United States citizenship, the American Institute in Taiwan also sent a representative to talk to the father and provide assistance if requested, Chang said.

CDC Director-General Steve Kuo said its experts had investigated the case and come to the conclusion that the boy’s death was not related to the vaccine.

He said the CDC would respect whatever decision the boy’s father took, filing for compensation or taking legal action.

A total of almost 4.8 million people had been vaccinated so far, according to CDC statistics.

Including the boy, a total of four deaths were recorded following inoculation, including men aged 82 and 50 respectively who had difficult health histories, and a high school student, reports said.

Five pregnant women were reported with problems ranging from miscarriage to a stillborn infant.

Of the 331 lighter cases, 43 percent were dizzy after being inoculated, 20 percent registered a fever, 18 percent felt ill, 17 percent had a headache and 11 percent vomited, according to CDC data.

Woman in Her Twenties Dies Suddenly After H1N1 Vaccine

A woman in the 20s from London died Saturday, three days after being vaccinated against swine flu. It is so far no reason why she died from the vaccination.

The woman in the 20-years had an underlying heart disease, which consequently placed her at risk for swine influenza. It was also the background for her Wednesday, 28 October was vaccinated for the virus.

Three days later, Saturday 31 October, she died unexpectedly. Preliminary studies show no connection between the death and the vaccine, but because it occurred so close to the vaccination was the woman obdusert as quickly as possible.

According to the Norwegian Medicines Agency's deaths related to vaccines, almost never.

2 Year old Gets H1N1 After Vaccine

A local mother has concerns about its effectiveness, after she followed the recommendations and her son still developed the disease.

"Just because your children have had the H1N1 shot, does not mean you're protected," said Reynolds. "Your children and your family can still get it."

In late October, Sandy Reynolds took her 2-year-old, Zach, to a local vaccine clinic, then followed the recommendations with a follow-up shot earlier this month.

The drug-maker, though, later recalled the second one, over concerns it wasn't strong enough.

"When he started running a fever that's the first thing I thought of and that's why I took him to the doctor to get him tested for the H1N1," said Reynolds.

But according to the Centers for Disease Control, it's not likely the recalled shot played a part. Announcing the recall of 800,000 vaccines last week, scientists said there were no safety concerns.

"Kinda upsetting," said Reynolds. "I've done everything that I could to try to keep him from getting sick. I'm not going to really say I point the blame at anybody, but it's still very upsetting that they tell you that everybody should get the shot, but you still have to be concerned about getting the H1N1."

Dr. Tim Jones, the Tennessee State Epidemiologist, told Channel 4 News it's the first time he's heard of anyone developing H1N1 after receiving the vaccine. But he also said no vaccine is perfect, it takes time to become fully effective and some recipients' immune systems don't react as well as others.

Right now, Zach Reynolds has a high fever and may have to return to the doctor's office tomorrow morning. His parents are taking their own precautions, including medication, to try to reduce their chances of contracting the disease.

VAN UK's Comment: Doctors and the boy's parents obviously did not consider that the vaccine may have CAUSED the H1N1, rather than failing to protect.

11 Students Rushed to Hospital after H1N1 Vaccine

Spokesman Saeed Al-Zahrani said the students, all from the same school, had to be rushed to the local children’s hospital after receiving the H1N1 vaccination.

“The medical examination proved that all of them were in good health and not affected in any way,” he added.

Al-Zahrani believed the students had suffered from what he termed “a communal psychological fear” after one of them developed a slight headache after receiving the jab. He said it was because the pupil was already suffering from an underlying health condition.

“This happens in all schools after vaccination against any diseases,” he added. Al-Zahrani said side effects of the H1N1 vaccination include slight pain, inflammation of the part of the body vaccinated, a slight headache, muscle pain, slight fever and nausea.

Legislators Criticize Teiwan DOH over H1N1 Vaccine

Lawmakers yesterday accused Department of Health (DOH) Minister Yaung Chih-liang (楊志良) of refusing to admit to risks associated with the A(H1N1) vaccine and urged the DOH to increase compensation for anyone who experiences adverse effects.

The legislature’s Social Welfare and Environmental Hygiene Committee got off to a raucous start yesterday, with several lawmakers, including Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Legislator Chen Ying (陳瑩) and Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) Legislator Lo Shu-lei (羅淑蕾), engaging in a heated argument.

Chen had invited two doctors to speak to the committee about the vaccine. KMT lawmakers protested the move, saying it violated legislative procedure.

Hours later, when committee members finally managed to bring the discussion back to safety concerns about the vaccine, lawmakers called on Yaung to acknowledge its risks.

On Dec. 12, the government launched a program that aims to vaccinate the entire population against H1N1. Both domestic and foreign vaccines are being used. But some people reported feeling some discomfort after receiving the shot, causing public concern.

Last week, a seven-year-old boy in central Taiwan died several weeks after receiving the vaccine. The father of the boy, a physician, blamed the shot, but health authorities and other medical experts dismissed his claim after looking into the case.

The minister expressed concern that the public might be scared out of receiving vaccines, putting Taiwan at risk of an H1N1 epidemic.

The DOH said it would step up efforts to assure the public of the safety of the shots and would consider offering higher compensation to those who experience adverse health effects.

Some lawmakers said compensation for any death resulting from the vaccine should be increased from the NT$2 million (US$60,000) to NT$10 million or more. Yaung said he would assess the proposal.

Meanwhile, on reports that military personnel had been given doses of expired seasonal flu vaccine, Yaung said the DOH was concerned and that the Ministry of National Defense Medical Affairs Bureau would address the matter.

Chief of WHO Hasn't Had H1N1 Vaccine

World Health Organization chief Margaret Chan revealed Tuesday that she has yet to be vaccinated against the swine flu virus.

"I have asked my medical service to enquire where I can go to get my vaccination," she told reporters in Geneva, pointing out that she has just returned from leave.

104 Deaths in Japan After H1N1 Vaccine, 80% in Chronically ill People. Health Ministry to Conduct Study of Whether Vaccine Kills the Chronically Sick

The health ministry will conduct an epidemiologic investigation into whether H1N1 influenza vaccinations can increase the death risk for people with serious chronic diseases, ministry officials said Wednesday.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare plans to begin the study next spring amid an increasing number of reports of deaths and serious side effects among the people who have received shots of domestically produced vaccines against the virus.

The ministry said postvaccination deaths have totaled 104, roughly 80 percent of whom are people aged 70 or older who had chronic diseases or disorders, while nearly 1,900 cases of side effects had been reported from medical institutions.

It estimates 14.92 million people have been vaccinated so far nationwide.

Man Given $50,000 Compensation After H1N1 Vaccine Makes Him Numb

The Department of Health (DOH) decided yesterday to offer a relief fund of NT$50,000 to a 35-year-old man because he showed symptoms including numbness in the lower limbs after getting A(H1N1) flu vaccination, making him the first recipient of financial aid related to the vaccine shots.

Medical experts on a panel screening the medical cases related to vaccination said they have so far reviewed applications for relief fund in 39 cases connected to A(H1N1) flu inoculation, but the man was the only patient qualified for the relief measure.

Commensurate compensation to victimized vaccine recipients will be offered only when three major criteria are met: 1) after they are diagnosed to have suffered consequences related to vaccination; 2) their sufferings have reached a specific extent, and 3) the effects of the vaccines are unable to be ruled out, they explained.

The male patient in the case met the third criterion since the panel was unable to completely exclude the possible impact from the vaccine.

Thirteen days after taking the vaccine shot, the man showed symptoms of fever and numbness in the feet.

Since the man has a medical history of diseases, including problems in spinal cord, the problem could have arisen from effects on his immune system.

He will be given a relief fund of NT$50,000 because the team of medical experts were unable to entirely rule out the connection between the vaccine and the symptoms, a spokesman of the panel said.

Fireman is Paralysed After H1N1 Vaccine

A potential side effect of the H1N1 flu vaccine appears to have stricken a Jacksonville man.

A source told Channel 4 a local firefighter is now temporarily paralyzed by a rare condition called Guillane Barré syndrome, or GBS, that could be linked to the H1N1 vaccination.

The firefighter has been in Baptist Hospital battling the disorder, which affects the nervous system. He is recovering.

"We have to be concerned always about any kind of side effect from a vaccine or any kind of medication," said Dr. Robert Harmon, who heads the Duval County Health Department.

Harmon said the connection between the disorder and the H1N1 vaccine is rare but not unheard of.

Cardiologist is Paralysed After H1N1 Vaccine

A 58-year-old cardiologist who received a human swine flu (H1N1) vaccination is in serious condition with Guillain- Barre syndrome, a disease that affects the nervous system.

But an expert group said it could not be determined if the doctor's disorder was directly caused by the vaccine.

A doctors' group said the case led to a decline in the number of people receiving vaccinations yesterday.

The cardiologist, Kwok Hong-tai, who has an underlying medical condition, received the vaccine on December 24 and began feeling weakness in his lower limbs on December 28, Patrick Li Chung-ki of Queen Elizabeth Hospital said.

Kwok was admitted to Queen Mary Hospital on January 2 where he remained in serious but stable condition yesterday.

A nurse at the cardiologist's clinic in North Point declined to confirm whether the doctor is the one suffering from Guillain-Barre syndrome.

Li said the patient has shown weakness in all four limbs and his symptoms were "compatible with Guillain-Barre syndrome."

The rare disease occurs after receiving vaccines, while other patients develop it after viral or bacterial infections.

For some patients, there is no underlying cause but is "incidental," Li said. Hong Kong Doctors Union president Henry Yeung Chiu-fat said there were significantly fewer people who came forward to be vaccinated at private clinics.

But government figures showed at least 8,872 were vaccinated in the 24 hours ending 1pm yesterday. Of those, 1,717 went to private doctors, compared with 2,171 the day before.

Infectious disease specialist Lo Wing-lok said the case is more likely related to the vaccine "because of the time sequence and because of various clinical observations and tests done."

He said the case is a "very strong deterrent" for people not to be vaccinated.

Man Gets Meningitis After H1N1 Vaccine, Doctor Blames it on Vaccine

Jean Joly is an entrepreneur of 68 years who lived in Liege. He had been seen by her doctor as a person at risk and has therefore been vaccinated in late November. But barely a week later, he showed symptoms of mental confusion and memory loss. Major digestive problems then occurred, leading him to be hospitalized at the CHR Citadelle Liège.
"The doctor did not understand exactly what I had. They gave me anti-viral and anti-inflammatory treatments."

After numerous examinations and after several days of hospitalization, a hypothesis emerges: that of a meningo-encephalitis. The doctor then said: "I think you made a response to H1N1 vaccine."

"Probably" because of the vaccine

But nothing is certain about the cause and effect: "We have very few ways to prove that indeed the symptoms presented by patients is directly related to vaccination. So it will most likely be a possible case, but it will be hard to say he is certain, "said Jean-Marc Senterre, coordinator of the Influenza Unit at the Hospital de la Citadelle, micro RTL-TVI.

2 Year Old Dies After H1N1 Vaccine, After Previous DPT at 9 Weeks Left Her Paralysed, Deaf, Blind and Epileptic.

A COUPLE have spoken of their heartbreak after finding their two-year-old girl dead in bed in circumstances chillingly similar to a previous incident which had left her severely disabled.
On both occasions Siobhan Boyle was discovered in a serious condition in her cot within weeks of a routine vaccination.

On 30 December she was found "blue and not breathing" in her cot by her mother Charmaine Boyle. All efforts to resuscitate her failed and a post-mortem did not reveal the cause of death.

Mrs Boyle and her husband Craig, from Dreghorn, today paid tribute to their "darling angel princess", who was a twin.

The circumstances of Siobhan's death mirrored an incident when she was nine weeks old, which left her paralysed, deaf, blind and epileptic. Mr and Mrs Boyle believe their daughter's disabilities were brought on by a whooping cough jag Siobhan was given two weeks before she nearly died as a baby, though they were told at the time it was not the cause.

Mrs Boyle, 25, said: "We had huge reservations because she had a bad cold but the doctors told us it would be fine. A couple of weeks later we found her cot covered in bile. We rushed her to the hospital but she passed away for five minutes and oxygen couldn't get to her brain. From then on, our once happy and smiley baby wasn't able to move, see or hear."

Mrs Boyle added: "Just two weeks before Siobhan died we took her for a swine flu injection.

While a post-mortem did not reveal a cause of death the couple are hopeful that blood test results due in a couple of weeks will shed light on what happened. Siobhan's severe brain damage meant she was paralysed throughout her lifetime and had to be fed through a tube connected to her stomach.

35 Year Old Doctor With NO Health Problems Dies One Day After H1N1 Vaccine

Thursday, December 30, one day after the launch of the vaccination campaign against influenza AH1N1, terrible news has plunged the staff of the University Hospital-Saadna Abdennour: the head doctor of the ICU, Dr. Lilia Rezig dies mysteriously when she "had to be inoculated with the vaccine against influenza AH1N1, like her colleagues' report our brother Le Jeune Independent in its Friday edition. The deceased showed no signs of disease that would explain his sudden death, said the source.

As a reminder, to date 20 cases of suspected influenza A H1N1 and 4 deaths have been recorded at all of the wilaya of Setif, according to official sources. However, since the suspicious death of this physician of 35 years after being vaccinated, huge doubts hanging over the effectiveness or the potential dangerousness of the vaccine.

Asked by Le Jeune Independent, Professor Lachhab, head of reference, says "it is still early to comment on the cause of this sudden death of her colleague," and that "only an autopsy will determine the true cause this death. "

Healthy 23 Year old Man Dies 5 Days After H1N1 Shot

The health authorities are investigating the unexpected death of a young man who took the swine flu vaccine five days earlier, although initial results indicate just a "coincidental" relation between the two.

Clayton Cachia, 23, died on Wednesday evening at Mater Dei Hospital after he was taken ill from work.

Described by his distraught parents, Joseph and Pauline, as perfectly healthy, Mr Cachia was to be engaged to his girlfriend Ebony in two months' time.

The health authorities confirmed that an autopsy was held yesterday and medical tests were ongoing to determine whether the untimely death was related to the vaccine.

"Since the person was injected with the A(H1N1) influenza vaccine five days ago, the case is being followed very closely by the health authorities. From the information collected so far the relation between his death and the vaccine could possibly be coincidental," a spokesman said.

Mr Cachia's sudden death came as a complete surprise to his parents and only sister, Romina.

"He was a healthy six-foot-four boy," his mother said, adding he took the swine flu vaccine on Saturday after being advised to do so at his work place. Mr Cachia had only just started working as a medical representative with a pharmaceutical company two months earlier.

"I do not know whether his death is linked to the vaccine. Doctors said it was not but I don't know. I don't know. I have not taken the vaccine and will not take it myself," his mother added.

"I am going to die," his grieving father said, pointing out that doctors had taken all the necessary tests and sent them abroad.

"They told us his heart swelled. He took the injection on Saturday... I don't know if it was a reaction to the vaccine," he said.

Mr Cachia was an "exemplary" child who, according to his mother, "brightened up the street" with his charm.

An avid Manchester United supporter, Mr Cachia had left home at 5 a.m. after kissing his mother goodbye. He collapsed at work a few hours later.

16 Year Old Paralysed After H1N1 Vaccine

The middle son of Newton Falls Municipal Court Judge Philip Vigorito and Sharon Vigorito has spent the past month battling a rare disorder that left him nearly paralyzed and unable to walk.

''He was paralyzed all the way up to the top of his chest and lost some motor skills in his arms and hands,'' Judge Vigorito said last week.

''I started getting headaches and back pain. Then my legs started getting real weak, and I had no appetite,'' Philip said.

As the illness was progressing, so was the challenge of diagnosis and cause.

Because the boy had received an H1N1 inoculation just weeks before falling ill, the family can't help but question whether the two are related.

The Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta confirmed they have received reports of four cases in which people recently inoculated for the H1N1 virus had been diagnosed with transverse myelitis, a neurological disorder that causes a swelling of the spinal cord, the illness afflicting Vigorito. However, they have not determined if there is any connection.

The symptoms Philip was experiencing are difficult to diagnose, experts say.

Philip was taken Dec. 17 to the St. Joseph's Health Center emergency room in Warren, where it first was believed he was suffering from a concussion.

With his symptoms worsening, he was admitted Dec. 19 to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, and then transported by ambulance to Akron Children's Hospital the next day.

Philip spent the next 11 days in Akron Children's before being transferred to the Cleveland Clinic to confirm the diagnosis of transverse myelitis.

The swelling can cause damage or destroy the myelin that covers nerve cell fibers. The damage then causes nervous system scars that interrupts the connections between nerves, the spinal cord and the body, often causing paralysis.

According to the Transverse Myelitis Center at Johns Hopkins Hospital, there are approximately 1,400 new cases of TM every year and occurs in all age groups, especially those between 10 and 19 years old and 30 to 39 years old.

Philip is undergoing treatment and rehabilitation at the Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital Rehabilitation Center, where he will work to regain his ability to walk.

The cause of Philip's disorder was and is still unknown.

''They asked several questions before they diagnosed him,'' said Philip's father.

The questions they asked were if he had received any vaccinations or had he had a viral infection.

''He had the H1N1 vaccination a few weeks earlier and a cold before that,'' the judge said.

According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, TM can be caused by viral infection, abnormal immune reaction, insufficient blood flow through the blood vessels in the spinal cord or as a complication of measles, lime disease and some vaccinations.

13 Year Old Boy Gets Meningitis After H1N1 Vaccine

The health department in south China's city of Guangzhou found that the injection of A/H1N1 flu vaccine may have led to a student catching meningitis.

Guangzhou Daily reported Friday the 13-year-old patient started to show symptom of a low fever five days after he received the injection at his school on December 16the.

The student later suffered from a high fever and was diagnosed with cerebrospinal meningitis at the Guangzhou Women and Children Medical Care Center.

The local health care system later formed a group of experts to carry out research on the case. Tang Xiaoping, a deputy of the city's health watchdog, said Thursday preliminary research indicates the vaccination may cause the disease, but that experts have not proven how the vaccine effects the disease.

H1N1 Vaccine Could Cause Auto-Immune Diseases

Switzerland's medical regulator recommended patients with serious autoimmune diseases should not use an H1N1 flu vaccine from Novartis, saying there were no studies assessing the innoculation in that population.

Swissmedic said on Wednesday it could not be ruled out that either or both of the adjuvant -- which can enhance the immune response -- and the antigen, or less active ingredient, could lead to an intensifying of autoimmune diseases.

Autoimmune diseases, like rheumatoid arthritis, are caused by an overly active immune system attacking its own body, targeting substances which are normally present.

Novartis was not immediately available to comment.

Doctor's Receptionist Paralysed By H1N1 Vaccine

A receptionist at a GP’s surgery has been left unable to walk properly after having the
swine flu jab.

Alison Dygnas, who as an NHS worker was advised to have the vaccination, also
experienced the paralysis in her face, had slurred speech and found eating difficult.

Doctors believe the jab triggered a rare condition affecting the nervous system known as myasthenia gravis.

When she had the vaccination in December, the mother of two said she felt ‘full of energy’.

Six weeks later she started feeling stabbing pains in her legs, which quickly intensified.

Almost overnight the condition spread to her face, paralysing one side and causing
her eyelids to become puffy and droopy.

She was taken to hospital as an emergency and doctors performed MRI scans to
provide detailed pictures of the muscles in her back and legs.

At first they were baffled, but then a neurologist diagnosed her with myasthenia gravis.

One specialist told her the condition was ‘almost certainly’ caused by the vaccine, but that it was a ‘one in a million’ case.

Mrs Dygnas, who owns a horse and used to walk her two dogs every day, has been forced to give up her job and spends most of her time at home.

The leg paralysis can be reduced by very strong tablets that can be taken up to 20
times a day.

However, the medication causes nausea and vomiting, and takes several weeks for the body to get used to it.

Mrs Dygnas takes five tablets a day and as a result she has regained some of the movement in her legs – enabling her to ‘shuffle’, rather than walk.

But the illness is made worse by extreme temperatures so she cannot have a hot bath or go on exotic holidays.

Her facial paralysis has almost gone and she can eat most foods, with the exception
of steak or other meals that require lots of chewing.

Partially Paralysed By H1N1 Vaccine

Downstairs in the rehab wing of Markham Stouffville hospital, in a private room with a sunny window, lies Donna Hartlen, a young mother who is now partially paralyzed.

The Whitby woman can’t stand without leaning on a walker and her legs are too numb to allow her to walk for more than a few steps. The right side of her face is paralyzed, she can’t properly chew solid food and her right eye is bandaged because she can no longer blink to protect it.

Until five weeks ago, she was a perfectly healthy woman spending Christmas with her family in Nova Scotia. And then on Dec. 29 she was rushed to an emergency room in Halifax, suddenly unable to stand on feet.

The doctors diagnosed her with Guillain-Barre syndrome, a rare neurological condition characterized by sudden weakness or paralysis. And while no one seems willing to discuss the likely cause, the 39-year-old knows exactly where the fault lies.

She blames the H1N1 flu shot she received on Dec. 13 - two weeks before her symptoms suddenly appeared.

Of course, there is no way to know for certain. But Hartlen has only grown more convinced since chatting by chance in the hall with the older gentleman from the hospital room next door.

Don Gibson has GBS as well, with legs so numb now that he is confined to a wheelchair. It turns out that not only was he also vaccinated against H1N1, but he got the shot just two days before Hartlen, in the very same Markham doctors’ office.

“It’s way too coincidental,” insists the slight mom, her words slurred because the right side of her face will not move. “It’s either a bad batch or a lot more people are getting this than they are talking about.”

Five Pregnant Women React to H1N1 Jab, Including one Who Has Miscarriage

Health officials will closely monitor pregnant women receiving the H1N1 flu vaccine after five pregnant women developed side effects after receiving the jab, the Disease Control Department says.

One of the five, a 39-year-old woman in Satun province, miscarried after being vaccinated.

The five affected pregnant women - two in Satun, one in Bangkok, one in Phatthalung and one in Maha Sarakham - are waiting for the results of an investigation into the matter, said department spokesman Opas Karnkawinpong.

Two other people, from Kalasin and Udon Thani, exhibited signs of side effects after receiving the imported vaccine. Both are health officials.

But experts have said the adverse reaction suffered by the person in Kalasin was not caused by the flu jab.

The 38-year old pregnant woman from Phatthalung developed a lung infection and swelling after the vaccine was administered on Jan 12. Doctors at the Songklanagarind Hospital said the baby was safe and the mother had recovered, said Dr Opas.

WHO Changed Definition of Pandemic Prior to Their Announcement of a Pandemic and then Lied About it

WHO say on page 3 of this document, defending themselves against allegations that they changed the definition of a pandemic:

'Now let me move on to the second issue. Did WHO change its definition if a pandemic? The
answer is no, WHO did not change its definition.'

http://www.who.int/mediacentre/vpc_transcript_14_january_10_fukuda.pdf

Yet if we look at this WHO web page which is still live on the internet, it says:

'An influenza pandemic occurs when a new influenza virus appears against which the human population has no immunity, resulting in several, simultaneous epidemics worldwide with enormous numbers of deaths and illness.'

http://web.archive.org/web/20050210210053/www.who.int/csr/disease/influenza/pandemic/en/

Notice the word ENORMOUS number of deaths as the definition for a pandemic.

Now see this newer WHO web page, where the definition has been changed to:

' Pandemics can be either mild or severe in the illness and death they cause, and the severity of a pandemic can change over the course of that pandemic'

http://www.who.int/csr/disease/influenza/pandemic/en/

So they are clearly lying in their pathetic attempt to cover up what they've done.

Here are the screens in case they delete them:

We British are Such a Bunch of Drama Queens!

It's probable that you are not reading this wearing a "swine flu" surgical mask, but if you are, please take it off for two reasons. The first is that the "swine flu pandemic" (which cost Britain an estimated £1bn, with fewer fatalities worldwide than regular flu) is now deemed semi-officially "over", with the UK's 24-hour helpline closing this week.

The second reason to take the masks off is that people who wore them, even when they weren't at international airports, bound for far-flung destinations, who were merely strolling down ordinary British streets, nipping into Boots or Argos, tended to look rather silly.

Other people who looked silly during the swine flu scare were those who kept anointing their hands with sterile gel, pumping away on their overpriced mini-dispensers, as if obsessive compulsive disorder was no longer a psychological issue affecting the unfortunate few, but a tic signalling the self-indulgence of the many.

And let's not even get into hunching wild-eyed over the internet trying to "score" Tamiflu, or queuing for it when nobody was even ill yet, but – hey! – that slight snuffle could turn dangerous. Or it could just be a slight snuffle, but then where was the fun – the suspense, the hysteria – in that?

In the end, swine flu didn't destroy the world, but it did expose us as a nation of hypochondriac drama queens. It was all very well ensuring that the most vulnerable (elderly, young, sick) would be safe, but what about the rest of the perfectly fit adults, putting on masks, gel-ing hands, screaming for Tamiflu like babes in arms wailing for mother's milk?

All the while, the rationale was: "Better to be on the safe side, it's so scary, we're all going to die!" The way certain people were acting anyone would have thought the doodlebugs were still falling. So from Blitz spirit in real adversity to headless chickens when not much is going on. Never mind what happened to swine flu, what happened to us?

Admittedly, retrospect is a wonderful thing. What if swine flu had erupted into a genuine pandemic? Indeed, people did die (411 in the UK, with over 100 people still hospitalised), and no one is underestimating their suffering.

However, let's talk about overestimating. Chief medical officer Liam Donaldson said at worst swine flu could claim 65,000 lives. Health secretary, Andy Burnham estimated 100,000 new cases a day (figures now say 5,000 cases a week, far below the average for regular flu). Meanwhile, drug companies enjoyed an estimated £4bn pandemic bonanza. That's rather a lot of time, money, and angst expended on what was for the majority a bit of a heavy cold.

Even at the time, some of us had our suspicions (the new Black Death or just the new bird flu?), but we found ourselves screamed down by not just the powers that be but also the Tamiflu-crazed masses. Indeed, isn't it the case that, while diseases are said to be forever changing, the climate of public reaction in Britain has changed too – to over-reaction?

Most people eventually came to the conclusion that while there was an element of over-reaction to Princess Diana's death, what we don't seem to realise is that it didn't end there. It would seem that the same strain, the same bubble of hysteria and melodrama, is present in public reaction to other things too.

All of which must have contributed to the public hysteria over swine flu, when relatively few deaths (well, 64,589 fewer than Donaldson predicted) were reported. All of which was embarrassing to behold. Hypochondria is bad enough in individuals, but intolerable when it seizes an entire nation. Next time, let us hope that some of us will pause before donning our masks, or squirting our gel, and think: "Hang on, last time this cost us a billion."

Side-Effects of H1N1 Vaccine, Reported to Vaccine Risk Website

The H1N1 swine flu pandemic has apparently passed, and yet health authorities and government officials are still running around heavily promoting the H1N1 swine flu vaccine. In fact, in some areas officials are encouraging kids to come in and get a second shot. It appears that there are millions of leftover vaccines that these officials have to get rid of somehow. Meanwhile, reports of lives that have been devastated by the H1N1 vaccine continue to pour in but the health establishment does NOT want to listen to them. Posted below are 9 stories that readers have left on this website that show the kind of impact that the swine flu vaccine is having out there. The truth is that this vaccine is causing a ton of side effects and it is devastating the lives of a lot of people....

Wendy:

I had the H1N1 vaccine on Dec 15 and started having symptoms about two weeks later that were mild. On Jan 9th I ended up in the ER with a BP of 180/119 and a HR in the 120’s. I had shortness of breath and chest pain.

A few days later my symptoms continued to get worse. Now I have been previously diagnosed with Lupus. But I had come out of a flare up only two months prior and was feeling great and fully recovered when I got the vaccine. My history is a flare up only once every two to five years. It is very UNLIKELY to get two flare ups back to back.

With that being said…I started to get severe headaches everyday. My joints are swelling and painful. My fingers, toes, lips, and even spots on my head will tingle and feel numb. My nail beds are while. My heart rate is still very rapid and I still have shortness of breath with any exertion other than basic walking. My left eye has gone blurry even though I just previously had an eye exam. I have gained weight I think by retaining fluid. I have more symptoms than I normally have in my previously flare and they are worse in intensity.

I regret getting the vaccine. “I had a delayed onset also”. I feel this vaccine launched a major auto immune attack on my body worse than I have ever experienced. Going grocery shopping the other day I thought I was going to collapse from chest pain and shortness of breath both of which I have not had previously.

There are more symptoms but too many to remember especially when trying to constantly battle a headache. I hope it runs it course and goes away, but my fear is the possible long term damage it is going to do to my body in the process. My Echo already showed mild effusion and holter monitor shows ongoing sinus tachycardia. My nail beds continue to stay white as they have never done before and the pain in my legs seems to get worse instead of better.

Anyone with any rheumatology disorder or actually anyone at all I would not recommend this shot.

This has cost me huge physically and financially. I am hoping that the government steps up to the plate and really looks into this. I reported my case by filing a report. I hope others that experience these types of problems will also.

Bertha:

On January 21, 2010 I received the H1N1 (Lot # Santiup)which was mandatory by the School District. Two weeks afterwards my joints(wrists, knees and ankles) were very swollen and in pain. My fingers were stiff and painfull. I had never experience joint pain in my life. Why isn’t the government advising the public of the severe side effects the vaccine causes. Have the doctors been indoctrinated to say that the H1N1 does not cause side effects. What side effects are causing the small children that can’t express their feeling. Is there anyone who can convince the media to expose the the harmful side effects from the vaccine in national TV. Please Help.

Chami:

I had the H1N1 done in December 2009…Before this, I was the picture of health, don’t smoke, don’t drink, gym 5 times a week, athletic build. Approx. 1 week later, my arm that got the shot was paralyzed, I could not use that arm at all, basically I was a one-arm man. It got so bad that the arm atrophied from not enough usage. It don’t take a Doctor to admit that this stupid flu shot destroyed me. I advise all not to inject stuff into your arm…I learned my lesson the hard way. My health luckily bailed me out, I have rebuild my arm to the point that I can use it again…but I am 20% what I was before athletically…so I am equal to a 50 year old man who smokes, drinks and don’t work out.

Dawn:

Something needs to be done my grand daughter was life flighted with seizures after her h1 n1 shot and the doctors on clueless on how to treat her. In my opinion DO NOT GET THE SHOT

Samantha:

I had the swine flu vaccination December 7, 2009 over 7 weeks ago. I have hypothyroidism. Since then I have worsening symptoms of my thyroid, flu like symptoms, mucus build up in my nasal and throat, swelling, stiffness and pain in my joints and muscles, daily headaches, SEVERELY exhausted, nausea, fainting spells and insomnia. Checked thyroid, so that’s fine. My doctor just told me today that all these are side effects from the vaccination.

Marv:

I am 71 yrs old, received my H1N1 in early Dec in the right arm, since then I have developed severe right shoulder joint pain, also in my right hip and like the story above numbness in my fingers and feet. I also feel just down and out, which is not like me at all. I have been told that I’m just getting older, but that’s not me at all. I am very active.

Scott:

I have had severe side effects from the H1N1 shot. It has been six weeks and I am getting worse. The doctors have said that I have a viral joint infection from the H1N1 shot, these are my side effects; sore joints, numbness in fingers an toes, headaches, red spots on chest, bluriness, fatigue. I received the shot on December 10,2009 and I was sent to the hospital on Dec 11. My symptoms keep getting worse. I was healthy and went to get my physical on Dec 10 which I receive 2 times a year. Now, I feel like Im 90 years old and Im only 48 years old. I wish I wouldnt have listened to my doctor.

Polly:

I have had the swine flu jab a few months ago, after the jab i had servere headaches and arm pain, although the headaches have stopped, the pain in my arm hasnt, the pain is unbeleiveable, so much so it brings me to my knees. its silly things that bring the pain on, ie, pushing a door, turning a lamp off, nothing strenuos at all… i must say i am getting very worried about the pain as it is not normal and only started after i had the jab, i have not seen a doctor as yet about it, as this is the first website iv looked at to find out if there are any side effects

Natalie:

I had the swine flu and seasonal flu shot on thursday jan 28 and yesterday evening my right arm began to feel numb. it wasn’t very painful until it was time for bed. At around 1:30 i woke up with severe pain in BOTH my arms. I couldn’t tolerate the pain anymore! I was crying, i was tired and the only thing that helped was taking 800mg of ibuprofen… but now im back to the same numb pains in both my arms and the back of my neck hurting as well as my shoulders and my lower back, and not to mention my head.. I know one thing for sure, last time i ever get the H1N1 vaccine…

Dr. Gott Says H1N1 Vaccine is the Cause of Girl's Heart Problems

Dear Dr. Gott: My 15-year-old daughter had the H1N1 shot on a Tuesday morning. That afternoon, she passed out walking to one of her classes. Her pediatrician did not find anything wrong. On Wednesday, she broke out with a rash from her armpit to below her hip. Thursday, her heart was racing at 150 beats per minute. Her pediatrician then ordered an EKG for the following day. The EKG on Friday was normal, but my daughter said she was still having palpitations, so I took her to the emergency room. There, she had blood work done and another EKG. Everything was normal, so they sent her home with a 24-hour heart monitor. On the following Tuesday, she passed out again but for a longer period of time. Again, we went back to the emergency room, where nothing was found to be wrong. She was then referred to a cardiologist and a neurologist. The cardiologist said it was vasovagal syncope and recommended she take salt tablets. The neurologist ordered an EEG, but we haven't heard anything back from him.

I am not convinced that vasovagal syncope is the problem because she is still having racing-heart episodes out of the blue. What other questions should I be asking her doctors?

Dear Reader: First, vasovagal syncope is the most common cause of fainting and occurs when the body reacts in an exaggerated way to certain triggers. These triggers cause a sudden drop in heart rate and blood pressure, which reduce blood to the brain, leading to a brief loss of consciousness.

Because it is generally harmless, it typically does not require treatment.

I doubt this is your daughter's

problem because vasovagal syncope decreases the heart rate rather than increases it.

I believe the likely culprit is the H1N1 vaccine. According to the Mayo Clinic, you should check with your physician immediately if you have chest pain, dizziness, fainting, fast heartbeat, feeling faint, dizzy or lightheaded, get hives, itching, shortness of breath, a skin rash and much more. These side effects are listed as having an unknown incidence rate, but clearly your daughter is having many of these reactions.

Kidney Failure, Vasculitis After H1N1 Shot

A Calgary woman regrets getting the H1N1 shot after her doctor told her it likely caused a rare and painful disorder.

Norma Goldring said she felt compelled to get an H1N1 vaccine because she is diabetic and has had a heart attack, two factors that Alberta Health noted as putting people at higher risk for serious complications from swine flu.

But soon after getting the shot last winter, Goldring felt ill.

"My body was aching and I was throwing up. Then I developed a spot on my leg," she said.

The rash spread quickly and Goldring ended up in hospital on Christmas Day. "By the time I got to emergency, it spread pretty bad and turned to blisters."

Her kidneys were shutting down. Doctors eventually diagnosed it as vasculitis, an inflammation that destroys blood vessels.

Her doctor, who asked not to be named, concluded it was probably connected to the H1N1 shot. Goldring, according to her doctor, is one of only 31 people since 1974 to have had this type of reaction to a flu shot.
Won't get shot again, says Goldring

Now, even using a walker to get from her living room to her kitchen causes her excruciating pain. She is on pain killers and steroids.

"It was like I was put through a fire. It was like someone lit me on fire," she said.

Goldring said she won't get a flu shot again. Desmond Fordyce, her partner, said he is worried the vaccine wasn't tested properly before widespread public vaccinations began.

"I think they're killing you more than giving you something for making you better," he said.

Robert Beckham, 16, Paralysed By H1N1 Shot

A Cecil County teenager is in rehab and is paralyzed from the chest down as a result of getting the H1N1 flu vaccine at his school, according to his parents and doctor.

Robert Beckham, 16, is in rehab at Mount Washington Pediatric Hospital, where he and his parents, Belinda and Tom, are learning to cope with his new status as a paraplegic.

In December, Robert suddenly lost feeling in both his legs and was rushed to Baltimore's Sinai Hospital.

"Very unfortunately, under very heavy treatment, not only did he not improve, he even got slightly worse," said Sinai pediatric neurologist Dr. Yuval Shafrir.

Shafrir said Robert is being treated for a rare condition called transverse mylitis in which a segment of Robert's spinal cord was destroyed by his own immune system.

Transverse mylitis is a disease that can occur after infection, but in this case, Shafrir said it was a medically unpredictable reaction to a vaccination that's being given in schools all over the country.

"The only obvious cause was the H1N1 vaccination," Shafrir said.

"I kept pestering my parents to get me this shot. I got it, and a month later, it went bad," Robert said.

"I'm still in shock from it. I can't believe that this happened to him," said the teen's mother as she held back tears.

"I did not know there was even a small chance of this. I had never heard of this happening," said Robert's stepfather, Thomas Finn.

To make matters worse for the family, both of Robert's parents are disabled and financially unable to bring him home from the hospital.

"If he had received the regular flu vaccine, the family would be able to file a claim with the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program," said attorney Clifford Shoemaker. "But because it was the swine flu program, which falls under the same bill as terrorism … the family will get very little in compensation for what's happened to this child."
